This week marks a monumental milestone for our city as we officially “sunset” the construction contract for the remediation and demolition contract of the structure next to the Historic Suspension Bridge! And what better way to commemorate this moment than with an unforgettable image captured by local photographer Joe Lovell. Joe, a lifelong resident and a passionate storyteller through his lens, shared: "I've spent my entire career photographing this iconic bridge, dreaming of a way to frame it against the beauty from Main Street at sunset. NEWS❗Wheeling, West Virginia, plans to demolish the former Clay School in East Wheeling to build a new multi-purpose recreation center. The center will serve seniors and children while integrating community spaces like J.B. Chambers Memorial Recreation Park and the Nelson Jordan Center. Guided by developer Tipping Point, the project has strong community support, especially among residents aged 20 to 35, and aims to transform the site into a vibrant community hub.
