This year, Tittle & Perlmuter proudly celebrates 10 years of fighting for justice and making a difference in our community! 🎉 Our journey began in July 2015 when Allen Tittle and Scott Perlmuter came together with a shared vision: to build a law firm that prioritized people over profits. Together, they set out to represent individuals and families—not corporations, focusing on providing compassionate, personalized legal advocacy. For Allen, the passion for justice started early, debating cases like Plessy v. Ferguson and Brown v. Board of Education in middle school. These formative moments inspired his career in law, where he saw how attorneys could use their knowledge and skills to create meaningful change. For Scott, the drive to fight for fairness and equity has always been at the heart of his practice, as he works tirelessly to hold those responsible for harm accountable. Over the past decade, their combined vision has grown into a firm that has helped countless individuals navigate some of the most challenging times in their lives. It is Justice Spotlight Sunday and we are proud to share a $6.19 million verdict we achieved in a medical malpractice case for our client. While hospitalized for atrial fibrillation, our client was prescribed multiple medications that increased their risk of falling, including one administered seven hours too early. Tragically, our client fell and suffered permanent brain damage. This verdict is a powerful reminder that patient safety must always come first. Before Allen and I became partners, we worked together as associates at a law firm here in Cleveland. Sometimes we’d go out for a beer and talk about work and life. As time went on, our conversations shifted more toward how we’d do things differently if we had our own firm. It was all talk—until Allen told me he was leaving to open his own law firm. He asked me to come with him, but I hesitated. My wife and I had a baby at home. She was thinking about switching jobs. I was on the brink of becoming a partner. Leaving that steady job to build a law firm from nothing felt too risky. My wife is a mental health provider. And if you ask her, she’ll say (at least half jokingly) I’m a classic narcissist. That means I think I'm both better than everyone else and worse than everyone. At that time, those tendencies manifested in my simultaneously believing that I could run a law firm better while also doubting that I had what it took to succeed as a law firm owner.  But the support of my wife and my dad gave me the push I needed. “What’s the worst-case scenario?” she asked. “You can always get another job.” So three months after Allen left, I left too. We became Tittle & Perlmuter. In that moment, it wasn’t obvious I was making the best decision. Ten years later, I know I did. We both did.
