Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
Chief Nursing Officer, Kathy Griffis states, “Our nursing, quality and patient care teams continually focus on hardwiring evidenced based and standardized best practices that increase safety and optimize the care of our patients. We diligently track and publish data transparently in our quest to achieve high reliability and zero harm. We are extremely proud of the hard work of our Titus team in the achievement of the coveted Leapfrog A Safety Grade.”
“Everyone who works at Titus Regional should be proud of this ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes complete dedication of everyone at every level, and an ironclad commitment to putting patients first. I thank TRMC, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for caring so deeply for its patients and their safety.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“I’m excited for the announcement of this national recognition,” shared Chief Executive Officer Terry Scoggin. “Thank you to each member of the TRMC Team, Nursing Leadership, Medical Staff, Board of Managers, and our Community Partners for their roles in this achievement. The outstanding work completed is a testament of the passion poured into this community every day to ensure each patient has the highest standard of quality care. TRMC is raising the bar for overall health and wellness in OUR communities and living our vision of being a catalyst in rural America.”
