About us
The Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association is the only food trade association that represents all segments of Tennessee’s food market. Membership is comprised of retail grocery store and convenience store operations as well as food industry wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors and suppliers. Since 1978 TGCSA has been serving the needs of its members. The mission of this association is: Maintain a high standard of integrity and efficiency in the welfare of the food industry, foster and promote the welfare of such business and disseminate useful information in the best interest of the food industry and the public. TGCSA works closely with the Tennessee General Assembly, state departments and government officials to assure the food industry is represented. The association also provides valuable networking opportunities for members and is the best resource for grocers, c-store operators, suppliers and wholesalers about activities affecting the industry statewide.

TGCSA President and CEO Rob Ikard has been honored with the 2024 Donald H. MacManus Award by FMI – The Food Industry Association. His achievements include leading the implementation of the "wine in grocery stores" law in Tennessee, advocating for statewide standardization to prevent restrictive local regulations, and playing a key role in maintaining the food supply chain during the COVID-19 pandemic. Congratulations also to co-awardee Rob Karr of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association!

The Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation is proud to announce the election of four new members to its Board of Trustees. The TGEF Board of Trustees is the governing body of the charitable nonprofit affiliated with the Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association. Established in 1985, the 501(c)(3) organization has focused on issuing higher education scholarships for employees and family members of employees of TGCSA member companies. Since its inception, TGEF has issued hundreds of scholarships totaling more than $4 million.
