The strategy of shoehorning standard linear actuators into your design to keep costs down and shorten time to market isn’t as worthwhile as you might think. Instead of compromising your machine’s performance, optimize your design first and then select an actuator based on that design. You might think this custom solution leads to longer time and higher costs — but it doesn’t if you hold your actuator supplier accountable and follow the guidelines in our new blog post: https://ow.ly/NycL50TTst1

When specifying linear actuators, engineers often face a choice between traditional or integrated designs. Although traditional actuators offer advantages like motor option flexibility or high stroke lengths, many applications would benefit from an integrated actuator’s compact form, lighter weight, higher rigidity and greater protection. Hydraulic machines have been the standard for high-force pressing applications for decades, but they are rapidly being replaced by servo-electric presses. Though servo-electric presses offer increased precision, control, programmability, energy efficiency and sustainability they were historically limited in some high-force applications. Today, innovative linear actuator designs have eliminated many of these limitations. Read our new blog post to learn more. https://ow.ly/txxj50RuVeV
