Last month Topology Principal Golda Speyer, PP, AICP, PMP® participated in a panel with our client Blackstone 360 for a Real Estate Development course at Rutgers Business School in Newark - our own backyard! 👩🏫 The panel consisted of the project team from the Allure 258 residential development in the City of East Orange, for which Topology took part in a hearing and secured a density variance from the East Orange Zoning Board of Adjustment back in 2020 on behalf of our client. 🏢✅ Speakers also included developers Amira Hasan and Ibraham Hasan from #Blackstone360 (who also teach the course), architect MURAT MUTLU, AIA from INOA ARCHITECTURE and engineer Rick Adelsohn from Frank H. Lehr Associates. Golda and her panel presented a real-life case study and spoke about the land use process and pre-development phases it takes to secure project approval, including due diligence, design, engineering, zoning, permitting, and defending variances. “Walking is a visual, spatial, and sensory explosion based on memory, needs, and aspirations,” says urbanist James Rojas. He sees #LatinoUrbanism as an intervention where auto-oriented spaces are transformed into more colorful, vibrant, pedestrian-oriented sites that walkers can take in and appreciate as they stroll through them. 🚶♂️ Rojas believes that to truly understand the concept of "Latino Urbanism," you have to take to the streets: https://lnkd.in/ept-nvHx #HispanicHeritageMonth #cityplanner #urbanplanning #community

Thank you to the MHS Architecture team for welcoming Topology into your studio earlier this month with plentiful food and drink! 🙏 It was great to get a look at the Iberia redevelopment process from original concepts to the current design as well as a retrospective of projects we've collaborated on since 2010, both working on the same team and as board/municipal planners. 🤝 We expect they'll be plenty more collaboration to come! Cheers! 🥂 #njarchitects #njarchitecturefirm #njredevelopment #njdevelopment #placemaking #njplanners #njplanningfirm
My heartfelt thanks to Bruce Stieve, AIA, Michael Higgins, Dean Marchetto, FAIA, and the entire MHS Architecture team for hosting Topology at their beautiful offices in Hoboken earlier this month. Over the past decade, we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with MHS on some of New Jersey’s most iconic downtown development projects and hope for even more chances for #collaboration over the next ten years! Thank you to MHS for your hospitality and for your relentless pursuit of high-quality #urbandesign. #MHSarchitecture #njarchitecture #njplanners #njredevelopment #njdevelopment
