For #ThrowbackThursday we're looking back at our historical renovation of Cambridge City Hall - a project that beautifully restored this 1887 landmark while preserving its legacy for generations to come. Completed in November 2024, this 13-month restoration included: masonry repairs & cleaning, window painting & repairs, gilding at the clock tower & balcony, flagpole replacement, and tower lighting & lightning protection upgrades. Working in collaboration with Finegold Alexander Architects, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH), Arup, and the City of Cambridge - led by Aoife Morris Viglianti of the Capital Building Projects Department, Municipal Facilities Improvement Plan - TRAC Builders was honored to help revitalize this historic gem, nestled in the heart of Cambridge’s City Hall Historic District - a site on the National Register of Historic Places. TRAC is proud to be the General Contractor for the Summer Street Apartments, a Crossroads Rhode Island project that will provide safe, fully furnished, one-bedroom apartments for formerly homeless adults. Expected to be completed in Fall 2025, this project is a vital step in addressing Rhode Island’s housing crisis. Even on the weekend, our dedicated team is hard at work! These incredible shots were shared by Anthony Hinojos (Assistant Superintendent), Jay Crowe, CSP, OHST (Director of HR & Safety), and Nelson Ferreira (our COO) - some taken before the sun even rose. On Saturday, Bay Crane Companies assisted Delta Mechanical in lifting HVAC units to the roof with a Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 crane - rated for 70 tons! By the end of the day, they had placed roughly 2 air handlers and 20 condensers! Shoutout to our hardworking crew for keeping this project moving forward! We're thrilled to share that Crossroads President & CEO Michelle Wilcox has been recognized among Rhode Island Monthly's Outstanding Women! Michelle is spearheading the development of nearly 300 permanent supportive apartments across 3 different buildings to provide affordable housing in Rhode Island. Under her leadership, construction of the Summer Street Apartments, a 176-unit apartment building for formerly homeless adults, is well underway and on track for completion this fall. This spring, Crossroads will be breaking ground on nearby 371 Pine Street, a 35-unit health and housing apartment building for medically vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness. A complete renovation of Crossroads’ Travelers Aid Housing is also in the works and will add 81 additional one-bedroom and studio apartments in 2027.

We’re excited to announce the addition of Neil Dooney as Senior Superintendent and Erik Swenson as Senior Project Manager to the TRAC team! Both bring decades of experience and leadership to our Rosebrook Commons project in Middletown, RI. Neil Dooney joins us with 25+ years of construction management expertise, having overseen major projects across the commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and education sectors. Most recently, he led a $150 million school project for Brait Builders. Neil is a seasoned leader with a strong background in site safety, subcontractor coordination, and scheduling. Erik Swenson brings over 20 years of project management experience, contributing to over $400 million in construction projects, including municipal buildings, public safety facilities, and educational institutions.
