We've been monitoring the recent weather in Florida with a mix of anxiety and concern. The entire Traditions Management team is thinking about the residents of Florida during this harrowing time. We sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe after the recent storms. We're also glad to report that our construction site at Mission Grove at Stoneybrook and the crew working there were left unharmed. Here is a photo of the site after Hurricane Milton.

21,427 steps logged in a single day! That’s a typical day for Mary Evans, Activity Director at Traditions at North Willow, who is constantly on the move, making sure that the residents in her care are living each moment to the fullest. Her daily mission is simple but profound: “We strive to give each resident a great day every day because we don’t know when their last may be.” With this intention in her heart, Mary dives into each day full of energy and purpose. Today is World Mental Health Day! Many people go through short periods of time where they feel sad or not like their usual selves. Sometimes, these mood changes begin and end when the seasons change. People may start to feel “down” as the days get shorter in the fall and winter. Seniors are particularly susceptible to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) due to changes in their physical and emotional well-being as they age. Click link below for the key symptoms of SAD and how living in a Traditions Community can help! https://lnkd.in/evpeKQve #OurCommitment #SeniorLiving #WorldMentalHealthDay

Clyde Cox, a beloved member of the Traditions at North Willow community, lost his wife Mary to dementia several years ago. That’s why the recent Walk to End Alzheimer’s is so near and dear to Clyde’s family. While the family was unable to walk in Indianapolis, they wanted to support the fight against Alzheimer’s, so they walked together in the Great Smokey Mountains. Thanks to the Cox and Eisenhut families for supporting the walk and for sharing these photos. Mary would be proud! https://lnkd.in/gWCgGZzq

Meet Carolyn Miller, Traditions' October Resident of the Month! Carolyn has called Traditions at North Willow in Indianapolis, Indiana, home for six years. Carolyn was born in Aurora, Indiana, a quaint town near the Kentucky border and on the Ohio River. "Traditions at North Willow has many great activities, but I enjoy playing Rummikub with the other residents," said Carolyn. "I really like my fellow residents, the staff, and the leadership team. Oh, and the chef makes delicious soups!" "Carolyn is a beautiful, kind, giving lady that we are so fortunate to have here at North Willow," said Libby Mellinger, Executive Director. "She has been here for six years and has helped us welcome many new residents. Her smile and joy for life is contagious. North Willow wouldn't be the same without her! We just love Carolyn!"
