We're on the brink of another paradigm shift in the world of #translation, one that is likely to have far more profound implications than anything before it. #Machinetranslation, already a form of #artificialintelligence, is evolving into AI translation. John Tinsley, our Vice President of AI Solutions, will be moderating a panel at the TAUS Massively Multilingual AI Conference in Albuquerque later today on the impact of AI translation on the #localization industry, from the research and scientific side to the product and commercial perspective. He will be engaging in a discussion with Jaroslaw (Jarek) Kutylowski (DeepL), Orhan Firat (Google), Philipp Koehn (Johns Hopkins University), and John DeNero (LILT). Stay tuned for updates.

We’re honored to share that our CEO, Marco Trombetti, has been awarded the inaugural Fabio Gallia Trophy during the 22nd edition of the Rolex Swan Cup, organized by Nautor Swan at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. This award celebrates individuals in the #sailing world who have pushed beyond their limits, embodying values like resilience, integrity, and courage—just as Fabio Gallia exemplified throughout his life. The trophy, designed by Piero Lissoni, was presented by Leonardo Ferragamo and Annalisa Gallia, recognizing Marco’s exemplary character in the Ocean Globe Race aboard our beloved Swan 65, Translated 9. The ceremony, led by Paul Cayard, honored Marco’s achievement and the enduring spirit of sailing. Reflecting on his journey, Marco shared: “Completing a round-the-world trip was both a physical and mental challenge. What kept me going was the support and optimism of Fabio Gallia and the incredible story of the Swan 65."

⛵️One year ago, we embarked on a journey unlike any other. Starting from Southampton, we entered the #OceanGlobeRace. The challenges we faced were immense: circumnavigating the globe (Southampton, UK; Cape Town, ZA; Auckland, NZ; Punta del Este, UY; Cowes, UK), rounding Cape Horn, without the use of modern technology and with a crew that was 70% non-professional. 🌍 We made history by winning the first two legs of the race. During our voyage, we also faced unexpected events, coming close to sinking twice in the Atlantic. 😱 Still, we tapped into all of our problem-solving abilities, managing to repair the boat in the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) and Madeira, and rejoining the fleet to complete a full circumnavigation. 👍 When we commit to something, we see it through — no matter the obstacles. Our bond with the team, our determination, courage, resilience, hard work, and our ability to navigate uncertainty earned us the "Spirit of the OGR" award. 🎉 At Translated, we believe in the strength of collaboration and the power of human ingenuity to achieve extraordinary results. When we embark on a challenge, we conquer it. Believe in humans. Believe in yourself. Never give up. #t9n #l10n #sailing #OGR2023
