Is London's airport capacity set for a massive increase? It's one of the busiest aviation hubs in the world and the city is served by 5 major airports, but demand is still outstripping capacity. For years plans have been afoot to give Heathrow (LHR) a third runway, develop a second runway for Gatwick (LGW) and increase the hours of operation for London City (LCY) but it was uncertain how many of these projects would get the green light. With London City given the go ahead for its increased operations, attention is now turning to whether the capital's other airports will see their development plans enacted. A new study has revealed that 40% of businesses worldwide expect to increase their business travel in 2025. Respondents to the global survey on investment in business travel suggested that both the amount of travel and travel spend will be expected to increase over the next year, whilst just 10% of businesses foresaw reducing travel.
