✨ Big news! ✨ We've landed a *major* client in the RNG generation sector! Can't name names but ... they're the largest landfill RNG producer in the country! 👀 Trellis will help them manage carbon attributes from RNG production sites, the scheduling and settlement aspects of their offtake operations, and RINs. Why did they choose Trellis? It's a testament to our software's robust capability for reimagining and enhancing all types of natural gas workflows, which aligns perfectly with their goal of leveraging advanced technology to stay at the forefront of the energy sector. We continue developing our offering, bringing the benefits of automation to offtake agreements, carbon credits, environmental compliance, and permit compliance, and expanding our coverage to state-level Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) related to RNG, piped hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. More and more blue chip companies are seeing the benefits of switching to our platform in favor of legacy systems to create more value in their energy trading processes. What is biogas? And why is it important? Biogas is methane that has been captured from organic waste—such as farm waste, manure, sewage, forest waste, or landfill—and upgraded by removing water, CO2, and other impurities. Since it comes from organic waste, biogas is a type of renewable fuel and once it is upgraded to produce pipeline-quality natural gas it becomes renewable natural gas (RNG). Decarbonization can take many forms, including replacing fossil fuels with renewable alternatives to help reduce the release of greenhouse gases. Capturing methane from bio waste has the dual benefit of (i) substituting for the equivalent amount of fossil-derived methane, and (ii) reducing the amount of methane being released into the atmosphere—especially valuable because methane is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2. Anytime there is bio waste, the associated methane has the potential to be converted into biogas for use as fuel. RNG can also be broken down further to produce blue hydrogen for use as a renewable fuel or for generating electricity using fuel cells. #naturalgas #naturalgastrading #energytrading #etrm #etms #renewablenaturalgas #rng #biogas ___________________________________________ ✅ Trellis Energy provides the only end-to-end ETRM and ETMS SaaS platform for natural gas traders, shippers, asset owners, and operators. ⤴️ Click +Follow at the top of this post to receive our latest insights. 💬 Comment or DM to chat with us about making life easier and more productive on both sides of the natural gas desk. ___________________________________________

🤔 How much time and money will it cost us to implement Trellis software? 👍🏼 We understand that software implementation is notoriously expensive and time-consuming, and that this question attracts many “how long is a piece of string” answers. ✅ At Trellis, we’ve optimized the implementation process by automating as much of it as we can. Nevertheless, a certain amount of work is inevitable to tackle each company’s unique situation. ✅ Importantly, we collaborate closely with our clients, empowering them to decide how implementation resources are allocated. ✅ Implementation costs are calculated on a time and materials (T&M) basis, which can lead to nasty surprises when vendors run “black box” projects but gives our clients visibility into their spending and flexibility to adjust it when necessary. ✅ Trellis software can typically be implemented for a single asset within six weeks. Implementing across multiple assets will naturally take longer. ➡️ Give us a call and let’s discuss the time and money required to reimagine your energy operations. #naturalgas #naturalgastrading #energytrading #etrm #etms #energytransactionmanagement ___________________________________________ ✅ Trellis Energy provides the only end-to-end ETRM and ETMS SaaS platform for natural gas traders, shippers, asset owners, and operators. ⤴️ Click +Follow at the top of this post to receive our latest insights. 💬 Comment or DM to chat with us about making life easier and more productive on both sides of the natural gas desk. ___________________________________________

Our Rana Basu recently joined EcoEngineers' first Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA) Academy. The event brought together engineering consultants designing renewables plants, RNG producers, and financial types looking to buy the rights to renewable products and their associated environmental attributes. Participants reviewed several models used across the US and EU for assessing life cycle energy, emissions, and environmental impact challenges—including GREET and the GHG Protocol. This gave a clear sense for the complexity involved in capturing the details needed to calculate carbon footprint, and there was plenty of technical discussion about boundaries and additionalities that must be interpreted for those calculations to be valid and verifiable. An executive session with senior regulators from several different agencies—including the California Air Resources Board and EPA—concluded that clear standards and rules are essential for managing investments in renewables. A brief history lesson on related regulations and legislation showed how models must continually evolve to handle the changing rules and to ensure appropriate verification and compliance. Interestingly, while the hosts mentioned the need for better systems to help manage the growing compliance and audit needs, Trellis appeared to be the only software company there that is actively working on such solutions... #naturalgas #naturalgastrading #energytrading #carbontrading #compliance #etrm #etms #rng #renewablenaturalgas #lifecycleanalysis ___________________________________________ ✅ Trellis Energy provides the only end-to-end ETRM and ETMS SaaS platform for all forms of natural gas. ↗️ Click +Follow at the top of this post to receive our latest insights. 💬 Comment or DM to chat with us about making life easier and more productive on both sides of the natural gas desk. ___________________________________________

🤔 With summer upon us and electricity demand for air conditioning already pushing the Texas grid to its limits, what’s going on with natural gas prices? Shouldn’t they be rising more quickly? ⬆️ Indeed, the Henry Hub spot price has risen 6 cents over the past week to $2.45/MMBtu. ⬇️ But, looking ahead, the August 2024 NYMEX contract price dropped 11 cents to $2.74/MMBtu, while the 12-month strip, which averages August 2024 through July 2025, declined 8 cents to $3.27/MMBtu. 🤷🏼 And, across the country, regional spot price movements were very mixed, ranging from -69 cents at the Waha Hub in Texas to +95 cents at PG&E Citygate in California. 🥵 Rising temperatures certainly played a role. The Midwest and East experienced 51 more cooling degree days (CDD) than normal last week, while Southern California recorded 42 CDDs above normal. This drove an increase in natural gas consumption for electricity generation—11% in the MidWest/East and 38% in the Western region—but, by the end of the week, temperatures were closer to normal. 🫨 Meanwhile, prices at the Waha Hub in West Texas, located near Permian Basin production, where gas export infrastructure is constrained, fell 69 cents from $0.71/MMBtu to $0.02/MMBtu. At times, the Waha price fell below zero, reaching an intraweek low of -$1.04/MMBtu! 🚢 What about LNG? Average natural gas deliveries to LNG terminals fell 0.4 Bcf/d to 12.2 Bcf/d, while 29 LNG vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 105 Bcf sailed from the US. The natural gas plant liquids (NGPL) price at Mont Belvieu fell by 11 cents to $7.08/MMBtu 📉 The strongest indicator that prices might not strengthen anytime soon lies in natural gas storage. Net injections totaled 52 Bcf last week, compared with a 5-year average net injection of 85 Bcf and last year's net injection of 81 Bcf during the same week. Working natural gas stocks stand at 3,097 Bcf, which is 528 Bcf (21%) above the 5-year average and 314 Bcf (11%) more than this time last year. If storage rates match the 5-year average of 8.7 Bcf/d for the remainder of the refill season, total inventory will reach 4,240 Bcf, 528 Bcf above the 5-year average. #naturalgas #naturalgastrading #energytrading #etrm #etms #naturalgasprice ___________________________________________ ✅ Trellis Energy provides the only end-to-end ETRM and ETMS SaaS platform for natural gas traders, shippers, asset owners, and operators. ⤴️ Click +Follow at the top of this post to receive our latest insights. 💬 Comment or DM to chat with us about making life easier and more productive on both sides of the natural gas desk. ___________________________________________

Our latest Meet the Team spotlight shines on principal consultant, Dylan Keepes. Here are a few things you might not know about him... 1️⃣ Dylan grew up in Carrollton (North Dallas) and is consistently surprised at the strength of the Dallas-Houston rivalry. As a kid, he wanted to be a casino dealer because he thought the dealer pocketed all the winnings! After that dream was shattered, he took to meteorology—something he still has an interest in today. 2️⃣ Dylan has always been big on sports, playing—and now watching—both football and basketball. He laments how the Dallas Cowboys let him down every Winter! He used to run a food blog about Houston restaurants before transitioning to home cooking, which is a lot more diet friendly. 3️⃣ After graduating in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas (Hook em’ Horns!), he had no intention of getting into the energy industry. But in the end, he chose the energy trading and transaction space because it seemed well-established but still offered exciting opportunities. 4️⃣ Dylan saw Trellis as the best of two worlds—a laid back start-up culture combined with structure and a clear path to the future. He appreciates working with a great group of colleagues and having access to the entire Trellis team. 5️⃣ His favorite Trellis experience is go-live day for implementations and upgrades. Each brings a feeling of extreme satisfaction, seeing projects through and empowering client success. 6️⃣ Dylan’s superpower is playing to the human element when working with clients. He favors organic conversation to build genuine relationships with client team members, and takes pride in sustaining the dialog beyond the go-live date. 7️⃣ The best piece of advice he has received is if something can be done in two minutes or less, do it right away. This avoids accumulating an overwhelming backlog of tasks and gives you a burst of accomplishment. 8️⃣ Dylan counsels those considering joining the energy industry to embrace the paradigm shift and take advantage of how rapidly things are changing. Become the subject matter expert on a new niche—an opportunity to gain an edge over those with more experience. 9️⃣ He predicts that the RNG sector will expand rapidly as businesses learn to capture and transport it efficiently (something Trellis is already geared up to handle) ... and that the Cowboys will finally win another Super Bowl 🤣 Stay tuned for our next MTT post showcasing another member of the Trellis team... :

What is “SOC Compliance” and why does it matter? SOC is short for System and Organization Controls, a set of audit protocols published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The protocols describe how organizations should manage and safeguard data. There are three types: ⭐ SOC-1 provides information about controls and processes relating to financial reporting and governance. ⭐ SOC-2 provides information about systems and processes relating to security, privacy, data access, and processing integrity. ⭐ SOC-3 provides similar information to SOC-2 at a less detailed level for more general use. There are also special SOC modules covering cybersecurity and supply chain risks. Compliance with SOC-1 and SOC-2 can be demonstrated at two levels: ✅ Type-I involves a one-time audit evaluating compliance at a point in time. ✅ Type-II requires a recurring audit meeting Type-I requirements and the ongoing management of compliance over time. Achieving SOC compliance demonstrates a commitment to keeping customer data safe. We take SOC compliance very seriously at Trellis because helping our customers store, access, visualize, and manipulate their data lies at the heart of what we do. As a result, our clients can rest assured that their data is being managed and safeguarded to SOC standards (and beyond). #naturalgas #naturalgastrading #energytrading #etrm #etms #soc1 #soc2 #soccompliance ___________________________________________ ✅ Trellis Energy provides the only end-to-end ETRM and ETMS SaaS platform for natural gas traders, shippers, asset owners, and operators. ↗️ Click +Follow at the top of this post to receive our latest insights. 💬 Comment or DM to chat with us about making life easier and more productive on both sides of the natural gas desk. ___________________________________________
