The Nasal Alar SpO2 Sensor is your "one-and-done" solution for fast, accurate and dependable SpO2 readings. The alar sensor measures blood oxygen levels at the ala –where the nose meets the cheek and facial arteries are fed by the internal and external carotid arteries – to produce a strong, consistent signal. In contrast, when a patient is in shock or when vasopressors limit the blood supply to the extremities, finger sensors can become unreliable. The ala is also easily accessible during surgeries in which patients are supine, and the nose moves very little in comparison to the digits. Learn More: https://lnkd.in/e6wPjfKB

When choosing a sensor, you consider many variables, including patient size (neonatal, infant, pediatric or adult), diagnosis (injury, illness or infection), patient state (well or poorly perfused, ambulatory or sedentary), and location (emergency, surgery, intensive care or general ward). Concerns about cross-contamination and cost will also impact sensor choice. Durable Philips reusable and single patient use SpO2 sensors can help you deliver quality care to your patients while at the same time simplifying healthcare delivery and reducing cost. Philips offers a wide variety of reusable and single patient use sensors for every area of the hospital – the ICU, CCU, NICU, OR, ER, medical/surgical and general wards. Their rugged, comfortable sensors come in sizes to fit a broad range of patients, from neonates to large adults. View Sensors: https://lnkd.in/gVMRX_Xi
