Dunne, Vice Chairman of Piper Sandler and former member of the PGA TOUR's policy board, brings extensive experience in investment banking and golf management. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he co-founded Sandler O'Neill & Partners, which became the largest independent firm in its sector before its acquisition by Piper Sandler. Troon President and CEO Tim Schantz expressed enthusiasm for Dunne's leadership and vision, anticipating a positive impact on the company's growth in golf and hospitality. It's Customer Service Week and we'd like to give a shout out to a few of our outstanding associates across the globe! Meet Marissa Patterson-Egner, Tournament Director at Indian Wells Golf Resort in CA. Her team members said "She is often required to work extremely long and challenging hours which she handles with a “can do” attitude and a smile." Most recently IWGR hosted the Epson Tour Championship and she was the main point of contact the entire week. The staff with Epson Tour could not be more appreciative of all she did and how seamless this event was run. 🤩 Zeke Larson, General Manager Hunting Creek Country Club in Kentucky was nominated by a coworker who says, "His passion for delivering exceptional customer service to Hunting Creek Country Club is truly unmatched. He once visited every party store in Louisville to find enough tiaras for our La-Tea-Doll event, ensuring no one was without a crown - he makes it a priority to deliver on our members’ experience every day." WOW! 👏 Linda Hijirida , Golf Shop Attendant at Volcano Golf Course in Hawaii is recognized for "her welcoming attitude and taking care of everyone who comes to the course. She is conscientious in what she does, has a smile and hug for everyone, and lets everyone know what is going on at the course." 🤗 And Tim Mighetto, Guest Service Attendant at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes in Arizona who "genuinely brightens the days of those around him with his shine." Tim is a former youth pastor that retired and moved to Maricopa and "came to work with us at ACSD because of his love of golf and working with people. He is a true service minded person and cares genuinely about his guests and co-workers." In honour of National Coaches Day, we spoke to one of our Relentlessly Dedicated associates, Jordan Cook, Senior Teaching Professional at Dubai Hills Golf Club to find out what drives him, what challenges him and how he pushes himself to continually develop. What do you find the most rewarding in your job? It's incredibly fulfilling to introduce others to the game that has brought so many great experiences into my life. Watching golf become a significant part of my students' lives is truly special, as it reminds me of all the amazing memories I made while learning the game as I grew up. The most rewarding aspect, though, is seeing my students improve and find joy in the sport. What challenges you every day? Something that challenges me every day is the need to adapt my teaching approach to the unique needs of each student. Whether I'm working with a beginner who's learning the basics or helping an advanced player refine their technique, I have to tailor my instruction to fit their specific goals and abilities. It’s common that the perfect solution for one student often isn’t the perfect solution for the next student, this can be challenging but I love solving problems and I actually find this one of the most enjoyable parts about my job. As a teaching professional you are constantly helping your students improve; what do you do for your own professional and personal development? As mentioned, golf plays a huge part in my life, If I’m not playing or practicing my own game, I spend my time investing in my professional development. Over the past few years, I’ve completed the Leadbetter Level 3 Instructor Certification and Trackman Level 1 and 2 Certifications. More recently in 2024, I’ve completed TPI Level 1, TPI Level 2 Junior, TPI Level 2 Golf, and Swing Catalyst Level 1 certifications. As a result of the commitment to my professional growth I was awarded Advanced Coach status by The PGA which is a huge honour. I firmly believe that continuous learning is crucial, and I take immense pride in ensuring my students receive the highest quality instruction.
