You don’t think twice about saying ‘thanks’ to your barista and tipping a dollar for your pumpkin spiced latte (it’s that time of the year!). But when was last time you thought about thanking the folks who keep the shelves stocked at your local grocery store? This week was Whole Foods Market Team Member Appreciation week and TruJoy Yogurt was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go into the a few of the Austin area stores to share our appreciation for the folks who work so hard to keep our Frozen Greek Yogurt, among other things, stocked for your easy enjoyment! It’s easy to understand the suppliers’ gratitude for all the people at the store who work day in to merchandise their goods. And suppliers have the good fortune of getting to know everybody in their supply chain – from distributor to store clerk – and can thank them often. Whole Foods’ Team Member Appreciation week caused me to reflect a bit on who else ought to be grateful for all the work that goes into delivering the food we take every day – we should all be grateful and need to express our gratitude more! Serving food to the people and communities is one of the most primal ways of showing that we care. Sadly the experience of buying groceries has become dismally transactional and as customers we often overlook all the love and labor, for it is a labor of love, that goes into those last steps of stocking the shelves. Next time you are pushing your cart through the aisles and see somebody restacking pots of yogurt or unpacking a case of tortilla chips, please stop to say ‘thank you’, it will make someone’s day! For without the tedious work of keeping shelves stocked, the grocery store that you love, and its seemingly unlimited food supply would cease to exist.

We are dreaming of the days we have the scale to launch seasonal specials so that we can offer a more healthful indulgence to our customers in a season defined by indulgence! TruJoy Yogurt is still a few seasons away from being ready but the good news is is we are ready to go when our season comes! Thank you Kristin Sherman for sharing TruJoy Yogurts Classic Tart & Lemon Velvet Frozen Greek Yogurt on the news this morning for national ice cream day! What's even more special about this video is being showcased next to some other phenomenal Austin based brands - Shār, Kinship Milk Tea, and Funky Mello. I'm lucky to have gotten to know the founders of each and couldn't think more highly of them and the brands they are building around phenomenal products! It's funny too, Caitlin Cash and I ran into each other a few months ago while we were both doing demos and dreamed up a Kinship Milk Tea X TruJoy Yogurt Affogato and made one up on the store floor - highly recommended! https://lnkd.in/gGcskVzZ

Production runs are my favorite weeks – playing Willy Wonka is hands down the most fun part of running TruJoy Yogurt. Last week we had our fifth production run since we launched just over a year ago. Watching everything come together and roll off as a finished pint will never get old, neither will sharing TruJoy Yogurt with folks for the first time.            Dreaming up new flavors is the easy, bringing them to market is a bit more of a challenge. As TruJoy Yogurt continues to establish itself as an elevated frozen dessert, more of these dreams will come to life and I cannot wait to share these tasty creations that are living in my imagination when the time is right! We finalized some recipes for flavors that we plan on releasing later this summer. But perhaps my favorite creation was the ‘Anthony Orchard Special’ – Madagascar Vanilla Bean with Chocolate Covered Pecans. The pecans were grown and harvested by my grandfather, then enrobed in chocolate by my uncle and finally frozen into TruJoy Yogurts Madagascar Vanila Bean.            And the most beautiful thing about these pints – everything would’ve gone to waste. The pecans were too small to be sold commercially and the Frozen Greek Yogurt was ‘bled off’ when we were priming the continuous freezer. Always remember that even though the pieces may not perfect, with a little bit of creativity you can turn them into something truly beautiful. At TruJoy, we are only limited by our imagination, and so are you!
