About us
TRYPO creates a dynamic, inclusive community where young people are inspired to pursue a lifelong passion for music. Established in 1974, TRYPO has served over 2,200 young musicians from the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Current program offerings include: - Young Peoples Orchestra (YPO): Advanced full symphonic orchestra, led by Music Director Brian Worsdale. - Wind Symphony (WS): Intermediate to advanced wind ensemble, led by Music Director Brian Worsdale - Symphonette (SYM): Intermediate string orchestra, led by conductor Andrew Wickesberg - Youth Chamber Connection (YC2): Small ensembles such as quartets and quintets for students of all ages - beginner to advanced - coached by members of the Pittsburgh Symphony and other fantastic teachers in the Pittsburgh community - Percussion Ensemble (PE): Advanced percussion ensemble, coached by Paul Evans - YC2 at Chautauqua Music Camps: Summer program for intermediate to advanced students in collaboration with the Chautauqua Music Camps at the Chautauqua Institute.

Meet Lucy, our new Marketing Intern! Lucy holds a BA Music degree from the University of York and is currently a student-athlete at Point Park University, working towards her MBA with a concentration in Sport, Arts and Entertainment Management. Having just finished a year-long internship with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Lucy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to TRYPO. She is also a skilled pianist, cellist and vocalist. We look forward to working with her in the upcoming months!
