I am thrilled to announce that I defended my final project titled "Lonely Together — and Always Somewhere Else: A Visual Urban Ethnographic Study" on May 1, 2024. In this visual ethnography, I investigate the phenomenon of human loneliness and its relationship to media dependency. Early May, I had the opportunity to share my experience with perinatal depression after having my first child and how ever since, I have used and still using the media and Communication tools to create awareness and education about maternal mental health in Nigeria at the Webinar organized by the Federal Ministry of Health. I had the opportunity to share the panel with Bibilola Oladeji who has also mentioned name in places I couldn't even imagine as well as with other panelists. I am excited each time we remove a layer of veil covering speaking up about perinatal depression/mental health and all the stigma and shame that spices it up. It is our job and responsibility to ensure that the mental health of mothers are prioritized and health disparities that has to do with ethnic and racial profiling is mitigated against. So excited to announce that yesterday I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Public Relations & Strategic Communication Management with a minor in Creative Media Industries from the College of Media & Communication, Texas Tech University. What an incredible 3 years. I have garnered so much wisdom from peers, mentors and loved ones.. it is difficult to put into words. Debbie Davis Ed.D, ABC, APR, Fellow PRSA Brooke Galvan, I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with you guys and be taught so much. RaiderComm PR Firm was THE most unique experience at Texas Tech and gave me the necessary skills required of a professional in this industry. My confidence is immeasurable to what it was before this class and I will always advocate for students to get involved. I will also always look back on the Bateman Case Study competition and working alongside Victoria Bacon, M.K. Lovell and Sophia Bohnert. (Which, are all doing amazing things by the way!!) I remember seeing them walk the stage last year and eagerly waiting for that moment to come. It was met with open arms, a couple tears shed, but a monumental moment of perseverance and pure joy. My next chapter is Texas Tech Graduate School, where I’ll be pursuing a Master of Arts in Mass Communication where i’ll also be a teaching assistant in the fall. I am beyond blessed with this path and I cannot wait for what is to come.

On Saturday I graduated from Texas Tech University! I graduated with a degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communications Management from College of Media & Communication, Texas Tech University! I am so proud to have called College of Media & Communication, Texas Tech University my home for my 3 years at Texas Tech University!

Excited to announce that I have officially graduated with my B.A. in Public Relations and Strategic Communication Management from Texas Tech University. I truly have so many great things to say about this school, the College of Media & Communication, Texas Tech University, and the PRSC program. I chose Tech because of how I saw they invested in and helped usher their students toward success, and that could not have been more true. I will always hold a special place in my heart for TTU and all of the people I met there as I move forward into this new chapter.

I am thrilled to share that it has been an incredibly rewarding week for me! Firstly, I am beyond grateful to announce my acceptance into the graduate school program I applied for! This is a significant milestone in my academic journey, and I am eager to start on this next chapter of learning and growth. Additionally, I'm excited to have completed my semester-long campaign project. It was a challenging yet fulfilling experience, and I'm proud of the hard work and dedication I put into it and my team. At the end of this project, we became more than a team; I walked away with three more friends. I owe a huge thank you to Professors JoAnn Langston & Maria Ortega, MA for their invaluable guidance and encouragement throughout the semester. Their expertise and support have played a pivotal role in my education, and I am truly grateful for their mentorship.
