About us

We’re TTX, a company that provides railcars and related freight car management tools to the North American rail industry. Our pool of railcars – nearly 220,000 strong – helps support shippers in a wide range of industries. From automotive and machinery companies to paper & forest, metals and wind energy industries, shippers throughout the country rely on TTX’s flatcars, boxcars and gondolas. We’re owned by North America’s strongest railroads, and our free-running cars help minimize empty miles – so risks and costs are lowered, too. Our bright yellow cars are recognizable, and so is our commitment to meeting the country’s transportation needs. ConnecTTX, TTX Company’s Business Resource Group dedicated to giving back to our community, was proud to partner with Blessings in a Backpack - Chicago Chapter to fill 500 bags of food that will be given to Chicago area students this Friday. Blessings in a Backpack is an organization whose mission is to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children who might otherwise go hungry. A special thank you to ConnecTTX leader Sara Wulf, and members Dea Poshi, Alexandra M. Mischou and Tim Hennessy who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. Tim also serves as a member of the Blessing in a Backpack Chicago Associate Chapter Board. TTX is proud to live our value, Do The Right Thing, and help ensure these families don’t go hungry this weekend.

Last week, our 2023 Intern Cohort presented their Capstone presentations, which outlined key projects they were involved in throughout their time at TTX. From helping to standardize processes, to streamlining and creating new workflows, each intern’s unique talents and perspectives will bring value to TTX for years to come. A huge thank you to every TTX employee who took time to mentor, engage and teach our business to our intern class. To our interns: we look forward to seeing all the great things you will do. Best of luck this semester!

On July 26 Progressive Railroading hosted a virtual celebration for its ‘Rising Stars’ program and TTX’s very own Cami Hoffmann, Advanced Analytics Manager, was recognized as one of the distinguished Award recipients for 2023! Progressive Railroading defines a Rising Star as a colleague under the age of 40 who has made, or is making, a positive impact within their company and is viewed by associates as an up-and-coming leader in the rail industry.   Among Cami’s valued contributions to TTX were her instrumental role in streamlining many market planning processes, as well as helping create a culture of knowledge sharing to pass on her experience with rail equipment, transportation market factors, and economic ties to logistics. Cami was a founding member of the TTX Women’s Business Network (WBN) whose purpose is to create a culture that supports and inspires women to develop their professional careers in the rail industry.    TTX is proud to recognize employees like Cami Hoffmann whose contributions, along with those from the larger TTX community, further promote the value proposition railcar pooling provides for its owner railroads.   Congratulations, Cami, on being named a 2023 Rising Star by Progressive Railroading!

TTX Company is excited to announce that we are moving our headquarters to Charlotte, North Carolina.   As a fast-growing hub for various industries, Charlotte presents a unique opportunity for TTX, providing many benefits across the business, including a particularly business-friendly environment for our owners, and a vibrant community with exceptional opportunities for professional development for our employees.   As a result of the relocation to Charlotte, all non-remote corporate employees will have an opportunity to continue in their role from our future headquarters. This relocation will not affect remote or field employees’ positions. We will also continue to operate our FMO locations in the Chicagoland area.   While we value our 50-year tenure in Chicago, we look forward to our next chapter, driving strong, innovative rail and freight car management services from the Charlotte metro area.
