You probably have already heard or seen that next Thursday is our July Luncheon with the speaker as Matthew Lee, the Executive Director of the Tucker-Northlake Community Improvement District If you would like to attend, please buy your ticket ahead of time with this link tuckerbiz.org/newpage We wanted to take a moment and talk about what a Community Improvement District actually is. Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) are created under the authority of the Constitution of Georgia to help create accessible, safe and welcoming places that result in greater value for businesses, property owners and local governments. A CID brings together stakeholders, businesses and communities to act as a collective catalyst for economic progress, creating brighter prospects for the Districts represented. CIDs allow private commercial property owners to self-invest in projects that are most important to the local community, reflecting the values of the surrounding area and creating optimal experiences for property owners and local stakeholders. CIDs also provide mechanisms to receive grants and matching funding from state and federal agencies to support development initiatives. With greater flexibility than local government working alone, CIDs cooperate with other entities to encourage and deliver on initiatives including sustained economic growth, roadway safety, and beautification of right-of-way areas, all while raising the collective value of the communities. The Tucker-Northlake CID represents hundreds of commercial property owners and partners with federal, state, and local government on strategies to improve the right of way, attract community-oriented businesses, and keep the area thriving today and tomorrow. In Tucker we technically have two CIDs, the Tucker-Northlake CID and the Tucker Summit CID both of which TBA can help your business get connected with. We look forward to seeing you at the luncheon next Thursday!
