We’re proud to announce that our VP of Safety and HR, Cody McClain, has been named the 2024 Safety Advocate of the Year by the Iowa Motor Truck Association. Congratulations, Cody! Cody has been with Tucker Freight Lines since the very beginning and has played a major role in shaping our safety practices and company culture. However, Cody is quick to emphasize that it wasn’t just him—it was a team effort. Under Cody’s leadership, he’s developed and implemented systems and training programs that have had a big impact on our safety culture. We’ve seen better CSA scores, fewer accidents, enhanced securement training, higher retention rates, and lower overall costs. Cody also launched a safety coach program that focuses on building relationships with drivers from day one—something we believe has been key. Congratulations, Cody! There’s no one more deserving of this award. We’re so proud of you! Note from Cody: I am honored to have won this award, but in reality, this award should be a Tucker team award! Thank you to Lynn Berning, Chris Dun, the Safety team, all the Tucker drivers, Maintenance, Human Resources, Recruiting, and Operations; the list goes on and on. Everyone being bought in and doing their part to be safe is the real reason that we are a safe organization. Thank you to Sauny & AJ for believing in this culture and showing everyone that Safety is one of our Core Values. Thank you to all of our drivers who continuously do their part every single day. Everyone in the organization should take pride in this award and I thank you all for everything you do, day in and day out.

We have the best drivers in the industry, and an experienced office staff that knows trucking inside and out. The result? Your shipment arrives on time and damage free, every time. This is true whether it is palletized freight shipped in a van trailer, building materials on a flatbed, or an over sized piece of machinery on a step deck or RGN. We serve a wide array of customers from Fortune 500 companies, to local manufacturers, to farmers moving a piece of used equipment. We have the resources of a large trucking company with the know how and personal attention of a small firm.

We like to have a little fun around here and celebrate the small wins! Colton has officially stepped into his role as a full-time recruiter, and we've been cheering him on every step of the way—from his first call to scheduling his first driver. Colton originally reached out to us earlier this year after getting his CDL, looking for a driving position. Since then, he’s transitioned into an office role within our recruiting department. Today, Bill from Sales/Recruiting surprised Colton with a homemade plaque that reads 'Official Recruiter 2024.' So, if you call Tucker Freight Lines about a job, there’s a good chance you’ll hear from Colton!

We’re gearing up for one of our favorite times of the year—Driver Appreciation Week, September 15-21! While we do our best to show our drivers appreciation all year long, this week is different. It’s a time when both the industry and the public come together to recognize the hard work of our truck drivers. Our partners and customers love teaming up with us to help celebrate our drivers, and we’re already starting to see some items roll in. Today, we received two big boxes of merch to give away to our drivers from ISAAC Instruments, Thank you! Stay tuned, 12 more days! #driverappreciationweek #driverappreciation

TGIF- We all know TGIF doesn’t really fit in trucking—this industry runs 24/7, no matter the day of the week. Shoutout to all the truck drivers and office staff keeping things moving through the holiday week. Thanks for all you do—stay safe on the road! #TGIF #Trucking #Truckdriver #transportation

One of our veteran Open Deck truck drivers, Toby, at Tucker Freight Lines recently had the privilege of transporting "The Wall That Heals" from Penn Yan, NY to its final stop in Martinsville, Indiana. First, Toby made a stop in Mooresville, Indiana, where he was escorted by 286 vehicles—including police officers, medics, fire trucks, wreckers, and personnel from American Legions and Honor Guards—to the final destination in Martinsville, Indiana, where the moving memorial is now available for public viewing until August 18th.

Happy Birthday to AJ Tucker, President of Tucker Freight Lines! Pictured below: AJ Tucker (President) and Sauny Tucker (CEO) with their three boys, Charlie, Leo, and William. We may or may not have cropped Charlie into the picture—it's almost impossible these days to get the whole family all in the same state!

Congratulations to Desmond for earning Driver of the Quarter for our dry van division! Desmond has been with us for just over a year, embodying our core values of safety, service, respect, and a positive attitude every day. We're fortunate to have him representing Tucker Freight Lines. With three years of experience in trucking, Desmond’s record is what we’d call a needle in a haystack. His journey into trucking began when he saw the life-changing opportunities it offered, and his passion for driving stands out in everything he does. When asked for advice for new CDL holders, Desmond emphasized the importance of understanding that trucking is a serious, life-changing career with significant responsibilities. It requires effort, patience, confidence, and above all, maintaining a positive attitude. We’re proud to have Desmond on our team and excited to see what the future holds for him!
