Time for a mental health check! Are you sharing your struggles? Are you grateful for even the little things? Take a minute to learn what you can do for your well-being during National Mental Illness Awareness Week. "It is very important to prioritize our mental well-being and not avoid concerns as they arise,” recommends TMC psychologist Lynn Oelke, Ph.D. “Taking time to reflect and reach out to someone you trust when you feel something isn't right is essential for good mental health." Oelke also has these tips: 1. Know you are not alone. Everyone has struggles. 2. Get support and stay connected with friends or family. 3. Take one minute at the end of each day to say what you are grateful for and note the things that have gone well. If you are in crisis, please contact the Arizona Crisis Response Network 24 hours a day/7 days a week at 1-844-534-HOPE or 988 for the national Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. We’re grateful you read this post, and we wish you good mental health!

A growing region like Southern Arizona needs many things to build healthy communities - two of them are a growing and vibrant healthcare workforce and accessible career paths for young people. Yesterday was the grand opening for Pima JTED Mel and Enid Zuckerman Center for Health and Medical Careers that houses the licensed nursing assistant, medical assistant, pharmacy technician and other health care programs. TMC Health Foundation is proud to support this important project to fund the TMC Health Simulation Laboratory. Kathy Prather TMC Health

Pet therapy reduces stress and anxiety. It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact that has been researched and proven time and again. At TMC, pet therapy is important for both patients and employees. Today, Bandit visited the employees in the ICU, one of the most stressful places to work. It was uplifting to see how Bandit brought smiles, laughs and happiness to some of the most diligent workers on staff. Thank you, James Ogden for making a special trip.

At the Red Cross, we know no one can do it alone. Building resilient communities takes all of us—neighbors, businesses, local leaders, organizations and nonprofits—working hand in hand to create a safer, stronger future. Our partnerships with community organizations, like Tucson Medical Center, are the foundation of this work. Whether it’s preparing for extreme weather, supporting health initiatives, or responding in times of crisis, we are stronger together. Thank you to the executive team at TMC for today’s meeting. When we come together, we can empower individuals, uplift neighborhoods, and create lasting change. Together, we build resilience.💪🏽 #CommunityPartnerships #ResilientCommunities #RedCrossImpact

Did you know that: Early detection can significantly improve survival rates. Mammograms are recommended for women ages 40 and older. Many insurance plans cover mammograms. In the interest of your health, don’t delay. Scheduling your mammogram is easy online with MyChart. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. https://lnkd.in/g8umVfXz

TMC Rincon Takes Top Interior Design Honors The spectacular design of Tucson Medical Center Rincon was recognized last week at the American Society of Interior Designers - ASID Design Excellence Awards for Southern Arizona. TMC Rincon is part of TMC Health, Southern Arizona’s regional health system that includes Tucson Medical Center, TMCOne, Benson Hospital and Northern Cochise Community Hospital. The newly-built hospital took top honors for overall interior design and the captivating concierge desk. “It’s such a dramatic entrance,” said lead interior designer Jill Sweet, ASID, IIDA, NCIDQ of J Sweet Commercial Designs, LLC, referring to the wall of more than 20 glass panels that welcomes visitors and patients. “It’s such a beautiful feature wall and at night you can see it glowing when you pass by.” The digital image that stretches over the floor-to-ceiling glass panels is influenced by the desert landscape and is intended to create a healing environment, Sweet said. The showpiece earned first place for Innovative Product Design. TMC Rincon also took top honors for New Construction-Commercial. Sweet said various elements played into the first-place design, including connecting patient areas to natural light and the outdoor landscaping, incorporating botanical-themed artwork, and strategically selecting and placing furniture to maximize the majestic mountain views. James Copley, Executive Director of Real Estate and Facilities, was thrilled with the recognition. He said there were numerous participants in the lengthy design process, including former TMC Health President and CEO Judy Rich, TMC CEO Maureen "Mimi" Warwick Coomler, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Joy Upshaw MBA, BSN, RN, CENP and former Vice President of Facilities and Construction Richard Prevallet. Others involved include JE Dunn Construction, Devenney Group Ltd., Architects, Swaim Associates LTD AIA, and the countless trade partners who contributed to the success of the project. Congratulations to everyone involved!

TMC Rincon is proud to honor Teresa, one of our most amazing volunteers, with a Cactus Award. Every week, we see Teresa going above and beyond to help patients, visitors and staff. Recently, Teresa stopped in every day to make sure a patient and their family had a positive experience, even though she didn’t have to. She truly embodies our mission of providing exceptional healthcare with compassion. Thank you for all you do, Teresa and thank you for being you from your colleagues at TMC Rincon!
