About us

The Washington Representative Office of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) was established in November 1998. Within the general framework of the mission of its parent organization, TUSIAD-US strives to be a conduit for exchange of information between Turkey and the United States in an effort to strengthen political, economic, and business ties. The Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) was founded in 1971. It is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit entrepreneur organization that represents a large share of the Turkish economy. Member companies account for 85% of Turkey's total foreign trade volume (excluding energy imports), 50% of total private sector employment, and 80% of total corporate taxes. TÜSİAD promotes principles of participatory democracy, a competitive market economy, environmental sustainability, and universal freedoms and human rights. TÜSİAD is a member of BusinessEurope and the Global Business Coalition, and has a strong international network of six representative offices around the world: Washington, D.C., Brussels, Paris, Berlin, London, and Ankara.
