Regina Brady, our long-time Director of WIC, has taken a position as Director of our new Family Bridge universal home visiting program for pregnant and postpartum women and their families. This opens up a great opportunity for a dynamic and detailed-oriented person who enjoys direct contact with families in our community. You’ll be responsible for the overall management of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) serving New London County, including staff supervision, reporting, acting as agency representative and liaison with state, local, and federal partners, preparing internal/external reports and budget documents, and ensuring that the operations of our site clinics are maximized to provide optimal services to the people we support. TVCCA is a private, non-profit Community Action Agency, incorporated in 1965. We are well recognized as a community leader and partner in advocating for and meeting the needs of the region’s economically and otherwise disadvantaged citizens. Services include: Housing: Assisting households facing eviction or homelessness. Housing Services can also help with the search and application process for senior housing options in New London County. Energy Assistance: Financial assistance toward a household’s energy bill; emergency assistance if a home’s service is shut-off or about to be, or out of fuel; other energy related services including heating system repair and replacement, budget counseling, and referrals for weatherization. Nutrition Assistance: WIC is a supplemental food/nutrition education program for eligible pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, and infants/children to age 5. TVCCA’s Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to seniors, allowing them to remain independent in their home. Case Management: Accessing programs within TVCCA, the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services, and throughout the community like food banks, furniture banks, and housing applications. TVCCA also helps to prepare new DSS applicants for eligibility determination interviews. Financial Education: Supportive services designed to foster and develop positive household budgeting and credit management skills, and to assist households with overcoming their current hardships by taking command of their financial futures. Childcare and Preschool Programs (Early Head Start, Head Start, and Little Learners): TVCCA provides affordable, quality, comprehensive infant/toddler, pre-school & childcare programs that serve children from birth through age five. TVCCA’s Family Bridge program, one of two pilot initiatives in the state, is seeking a Director to launch, promote, and oversee this exciting new program offering free services for families with new babies to ease their transition from hospital to home. The position is responsible for all areas of the program including planning & operations, team supervision, and community relations. The Program Director will work closely with other TVCCA departments as well as developing strong working relationships with community partners including the Office of Early Childhood and the United Way of Southeastern CT (UWSECT). Max comes to the agency with a wealth of experience as both a Controller and Director of Financial Systems in the nonprofit and healthcare fields. He’ll be working closely with all TVCCA’s programs, helping to streamline financial processes, automate tasks, and assist directors as they oversee their respective budgets. “We’re really excited to have Max here,” says Brian Vanasse, TVCCA’s Chief Financial Officer. “He has a broad range of expertise, including overseeing finance departments and establishing policies and procedures.
