Hope is so often portrayed as poetic, beautiful, and shiny—which don’t get us wrong—it absolutely can be. But it’s also gritty. It is resilient. It is so, so defiant. It is the flower growing in the cracks of concrete. It is the thing that makes the impossible possible. It is sometimes the only anchor we have left in those dark moments. On this World Mental Health Day, we want to remind you that healing isn’t linear, and there is still hope in the valleys of this path. Hope has not abandoned you and it’s ok to lean on others to hold it for you in these heavy times. We’re here with support. You can find a whole collection of immediate mental health practices and resources on our Introductory Mental Health Toolkit at mentalhealthtoolkit.co. It’s totally free and includes everything from mental health worksheets to video exercises with licensed therapists. It’s OK to take care of you.

Below you’ll find a letter from our Co-Executive Director, Lindsay Kolsch. Dear friends, I hope this message finds you well. We’re one day away from the end of Suicide Prevention Month but our work is far from over. In fact, the past few years our team has kept reminders around our office to stay in the mindset that suicide prevention is an everyday endeavor, a constant fight for our communities and it doesn’t obey calendars or the changing of the seasons. At lunchtime today, I found one of those reminders on the side of our break room fridge. Taped there to the side of the fridge is a little white note passed to us through the mail that says simply “Thank you for saving my life.” The truth is, I don’t know the person who wrote it. I don’t know all they survived or all they are still fighting against, or fighting for. But I do know that this small scrap of paper stays there for our team to see because it underscores in just six words why our work in mental health is so vital. This may be shocking to read, but if you’ve ever had a chance to receive mental health care then you may be one of the lucky few. 28 million Americans will not receive mental health care this year, and those who are searching and asking for help often are faced with not being able to afford care or not having access to care in their community. I believe we can change this narrative together. By investing in therapy dollars, we can create a network that makes accessing mental health support easier and more compassionate for everyone. Your contributions will help fund scholarships for therapy sessions, expand outreach programs, and improve platforms that guide individuals to the right resources. Imagine a community where no one feels alone in their struggles, where healing is within reach for all. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to making this vision a reality. Let’s work together to transform lives and make good on our promise that hope is real and that help is real. With love and gratitude, Lindsay Kolsch Co-Executive Director In less than 5 minutes, you could have a life-saving impact. 🧡 We’ve never needed your gift more than we do now. Take action now by giving what you can today at https://lnkd.in/eWcPxVbq.

Only 10 days remain of our Suicide Prevention Campaign, and while we do this work year round, this campaign is one of the biggest ways we fund our Treatment & Recovery Program. If we reach our goal by 9/30, we will be able to provide scholarships for over 2,600 hours of therapy, and make 30,000 connections to mental health resources possible through our FIND HELP Tool. We believe it’s critical to acknowledge that suicide prevention isn’t just crisis intervention—it’s also access to affordable mental health care. Don’t underestimate the impact your gift can have. Every dollar matters when it comes to giving people the support to heal and stay. Donate or start a fundraiser at https://lnkd.in/e3mUhZwc.

Suicide prevention isn’t just talking about mental health. Physical health, poverty, community support, and so many other factors play into the way someone is feeling and coping. A holistic approach is required if we stand any chance of tackling the high rate of suicides across the world. Learn more at https://wrt.lv/4ggkKPs. What does suicide prevention look like to you?

Suicide impacts every corner of the globe. Every community is filled with those who know the grief of loss and the pain that suicide brings. Despite this widespread hurt, we often find ourselves keeping these stories, and our thoughts and feelings, inside. Stigma and shame still hold tight even though we know these struggles are not something we face alone. So today—World Suicide Prevention Day—exists for remembrance, for encouragement, and for the sake of honesty within a world that still tries to convince us to keep the pain to ourselves. Thanks to Newport Health, The Dybul Family, and other anonymous donors, this day means even more for those who are seeking to make a difference in suicide prevention. We have a matching grant currently active and all donations to our campaign will be automatically doubled. 🧡 These funds help us show up directly for the people who need support the most. We know that the epidemic of suicide is overwhelming. It’s a heavy thing to carry, and the weight of it can make it hard to know where to start. Whether by fundraising or donating, purchasing one of our Suicide Prevention Packs, or sharing our resources with those around you, you CAN make a difference in suicide prevention. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Get activated and take action in your own way today at twloha.com/stay.
