I can see why! The team behind the success of Zen Match is now dabbling with the Match3 category. Going directly after Dream Games. 𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝗠𝗛𝗢 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀. Dream Games sets a high bar for the match3 category, so for me, everything else is just not there yet. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Obviously. They also set an interesting creative trend thanks to Save the King concepts. Everybody is trying to "save" their characters in creatives, but not everybody can succeed. 𝗪𝗵𝘆? "Save the XYZ" concept needs to be high polish, always a near-death experience, and complex (meaning multiple milestones in the process of saving). 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲. No wonder there is already 38278436 clones. My biggest issue with the Goods Sort puzzle is in creatives. While we see 4-5 playables, that is still not enough. Same with unique video concepts. It's not enough to sustain the growth trajectory. Adopting a Supermarket simulator, in this case, should be an easy win. Which they do to a certain extent, but should do more. High Seas Hero 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 makes 40k/day after the global launch but is expected to grow rapidly. I expect it to 𝟭𝟬𝘅 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀. Our dear friends from Century Games always know what they are doing. When we first reviewed Whiteout Survival, it was not making 6 𝗺𝗶𝗹 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 like it is now. Mastering the 4X genre to the fullest potential. And surprise, surprise, High Seas Hero is also a 4X. 𝟰𝗫 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲, 𝗮𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹. This will be a bit harder on the UA side. The theme is pretty niche and my sense is that high CPIs vs. what they see on Whiteout Survival. But here, they could also leverage the AI videos they just implemented into Whiteout. I can see that fit really well with the theme and the audience. Mark my words; this needs to work. Sooner rather than later because the race for the 4X top is tough. Candy Crush Solitaire made just $𝟯𝟵𝟬𝗞 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝟯.𝟯 𝗠𝗶𝗹. 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 since the global launch. What's happening? Revenue is SLOWLY 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 I believe there is a reason why there is only Solitaire Grand Harvest killing it in this genre. Playtika has been working on this game for a long time, and only now does the game seem to be killing it. Why do I think it's tough? 𝗖𝗣𝗜𝘀 𝘃𝘀 𝗟𝗧𝗩. As always. Your classic misleading, fake, or sexist ads are not gonna work here. And people really tried. This is a different beast. If you don't have the expertise (or shit ton of money in your bank account) it will take years to make it right. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀. Yes, not deadly for King. I suppose. But people have expectations. There are PnLs in every company. 𝗜𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟵𝗸/𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗜𝗔𝗣 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵? How long did they get to show proper growth? The whole UA feels very basic now. It is almost like they are waiting for the next update to push the "real" UA: very few creative concepts and very few UA channels. Exploring the Mobile Mediation Market: Insights from Felix Braberg I recently took a deep dive into the world of mobile mediation platforms and shared insights on how developers can maximize ad revenue. Here’s an overview of what I covered: The Evolution of Mobile Mediation: Back in 2008, the App Store revolutionized app distribution, but discoverability quickly became a problem. Early on, featured placements by Apple or Google were the only ways to guarantee downloads. As the app ecosystem exploded, it was clear this wasn’t scalable. Enter Admob in 2009, bringing ads into apps, which transformed how developers monetized and acquired users. Mediation platforms emerged as the marketplace for networks to bid on inventory, ensuring publishers got the best price. Today, mediation platforms like Admob, Unity Level Play, and Applovin MAX are essential for any developer. What You Get Paid for Ads: Ad revenue boils down to two key metrics: eCPM (Effective Cost Per Mile) and fill rate. eCPM is what networks pay for 1,000 impressions and is influenced by unique viewers, CTR, install rates, geo-location, and ad competitiveness. For example, a Rewarded Ad in the US can earn up to $30 eCPM, while Banners in Tier 2 geos might be closer to $0.01-$0.05. Networks to Start With: Building a competitive ad stack starts with choosing the right networks for your app or game. Rewarded Ads: Google Admob, Applovin, Unity, Mintegral, Liftoff Mobile, and ironSource. Interstitials: The same networks as Rewarded, with Meta performing particularly well on Android. Banners: Google Admob, Applovin, Unity, and Digital Turbine are strong players. Leverage these networks to diversify your demand sources, create competition for inventory, and maximize eCPM. The Path to Scaling: Whether you're in soft launch or scaling past 50K in ad revenue, understanding mediation and strategically layering networks is critical for growth. Platforms like AppLovin MAX, Unity Level Play, and Google AdMob provide the tools to manage ad inventory, optimize placements, and analyze performance.
