Tyrewise

Ka nui tēnā Aotearoa - enough is enough. About 60% of the 6.5 million tyres we use every year end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped. Tyrewise is here to change that. Together, we are turning tyre waste into a valuable resource, protecting our environment and enabling economic wellbeing as part of Aotearoa’s circular economy. We use some pretty specific language here at Tyrewise, so we thought we'd clear up a couple of different terms for you. ✅Registered partner - these are businesses which are proud to work with Tyrewise to reduce tyre waste. They might be your local tyre retailer or fitter, or your local car dealership. It's important to remember, you can't drop your end-of-life tyres at all our registered partners businesses! They will only take your tyres if they're the ones who've removed them off your vehicle. ✅Public collection site - these are where you can drop your end-of-life tyres. They're usually council-run landfills, but not always. You can check where your local collection site is at the link below.

To achieve change, you have to set goals and Tyrewise is no different. We're aiming to collect and process 90 per cent of Aotearoa's end-of-life tyres by our sixth year in operation. Watch this space to see how we go!

We get a real kick out of watching our transporter partners dropping off all the end-of-life tyres they've collected 🤓 There's about 400 tyres in this load alone! That's 400 reasons all of us Kiwis can be proud of ourselves! Together, we're putting an end to tyre waste in Aotearoa New Zealand 💪😍
