🌐 Monday, on the sidelines of NYC Climate Week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted a special breakfast roundtable featuring representatives from the #COP Troika including:
-H.E. Adnan Amin, UAE Chief Executive Officer of #COP28
-H.E. Mukhtar Babayev, President-Designate #COP29 & Minister of Ecology & Natural Resources for Azerbaijan
-Ambassador André Aranha Corrêa do Lago, Secretary for Climate, Energy, & Environment, Ministry of Foreign Relations for Brazil
-Sue Biniaz, Principal Deputy Special Envoy for Climate, Office of the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.
Bank of America Vice Chair, Paul Donofrio, kicked off the event, setting the scene for a productive discussion on the role of the private sector in the energy transition, and the importance of engaging stakeholders across the board. Each of the government speakers underscored both the value of the COP Troika mechanism in implementing climate initiatives and the need for private sector and governments to work together on catalyzing ambition into action.
With less than 2 months until COP29 Azerbaijan, we look forward to working with the Troika & continuing to demonstrate how business is delivering solutions. As we did at COP28 UAE, the U.S. Chamber will take another Commerce Certified Trade Mission (CTM) to COP this year. #BizDeliversSolutions #COP29
