These smiles capture the true spirit of community and play. 😊⚽️ It also reminds us that soccer is more than just a sport; it’s a powerful tool for building connections and instilling confidence. On the pitch, they learn teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of celebrating each other’s successes. Every smile represents not just a moment of happiness but also the friendships and lessons that will last a lifetime. Let’s celebrate the beauty of the game and the positive impact it has on our youth and communities! #SoccerDoes
About us
The U.S. Soccer Foundation was established in 1994 as the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States. It is our mission to enhance, assist, and grow the sport of soccer in the United States, with a special emphasis on underserved communities. At the U.S. Soccer Foundation, we use our game as a vehicle to create positive social change in the communities where the need is greatest. We ensure that girls and boys living in underserved communities have access to evidence-based soccer programming that delivers positive health and youth development outcomes and safe places to play right in their neighborhoods. We are currently providing children in over 410 communities across the country with physical activity, nutrition education, and mentorship through our Soccer for Success program. Our Safe Places to Play program supports the development of safe places to play, grow, and learn, ensuring that children have easy and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development. In 2017, we launched It’s Everyone’s Game, a campaign to inspire and empower the nation to drive the change that ensures children living in underserved communities enjoy the health and youth development outcomes of the game. In partnership with communities, municipalities, and corporate partners across the country, we aim to reach one million children annually in Soccer for Success and build 1,000 safe play spaces by 2026. Together, we can translate our love of soccer into positive change that improves lives and revitalizes communities. Join the movement at itseveryonesgame.org.

Genesis Gives, U.S. Soccer Foundation, and MLS Players Association (MLSPA) have proudly unveiled a new mini-pitch at the Broadway YMCA on Staten Island, New York. Following the recent opening of a Musco Mini-Pitch System™ in Hollywood, Fla., this project marks the second installation through the partnership between Genesis and U.S. Soccer Foundation. “At Genesis, we are committed to creating opportunities for local communities that extend beyond our brand,” said Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer, Genesis Motor North America. “We are delighted to continue supporting youth development through projects like this mini-pitch, which will provide a safe environment for children to engage in sports and reach their full potential.” Through Genesis Gives, we partner with organizations to improve access to youth sports in under-resourced communities. Participation in sports not only promotes physical and mental well-being, but also provides a platform for developing critical life skills such as resilience, collaboration, and teamwork. We recently celebrated the opening of a brand-new mini-pitch at the Broadway YMCA, thanks to our partners Genesis Motor America, MLS Players Association, and YMCA of Greater New York! A vibrant addition to the community, the pitch was designed to spark joy and encourage participation in soccer at all levels. It was a pleasure to join kids and their families at the opening event that featured remarks from our partners, an exciting first kick, and multiple scrimmages. A big thank you to our partners who made this vision possible. We look forward to the moments, friendships, and dreams that will be created on this pitch. 🙌 #SafePlacestoPlay #MiniPitch #SoccerDoes #Legacy2026

Today we celebrate the creation of 750 mini-pitches in under-resourced communities across the nation, and the ripple effect is clear. These spaces are doing more than providing a place to play; they’re driving real, measurable change. By increasing physical activity, fostering a sense of safety, and creating vital hubs for connection, mini-pitches are transforming neighborhoods from the ground up. This milestone is a testament to how strategic investments in safe, accessible spaces can create healthier, more connected communities. Here’s to the power of soccer and what’s still to come! #MiniPitches #SafePlacesToPlay #CommunityDevelopment #SoccerDoes #Legacy2026
