While the uniformed services of the United States include the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service is the only uniformed service in the world dedicated to public health. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities to support their agencies', Public Health Service officers are prepared to deploy before, during, and after any public health crisis. Their mission is to "protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of the nation." The full documentary can be found at www.InvisibleCorps.com.

Congratulations to all the Daisy awardees!
The DAISY Foundation honors extraordinary nurses internationally across all 50 states and 33 countries. It was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from complications of ITP in 1999. After Pat died, the family felt compelled to say, "Thank you!" to nurses in a very personal way. The PHS Commissioned Officers Foundation for the Advancement of Public Health supports this award for our #nurses. We are so grateful for this support from COA's Director Jacqueline Rychnovsky. The #USPHS awards the DAISY Nurses Advancing Health Equity Award and the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. We are thrilled to celebrate our PHS nurses nationwide and to announce our recent awardees, CDR Jose Burgos BSc, BSN, MPH, CDR Solveig Johnson, and LT Brittani Stonionis. Their achievements are a testament to the dedication and excellence of our nursing community. Special thank you to Deb Zimmermann, and the DAISY staff for supporting our nurses.

Heart attacks may not look like they do in the movies, where someone clutches their chest and falls over. Women are more likely than men to experience nontraditional symptoms and silent heart attacks. 🫀 Make sure your patients know the signs and symptoms of heart attacks in women: https://bit.ly/3W1jpUl
