Where does your state stand when it comes to paid parental leave? Expectant parents often find creating a leave plan overwhelming, like piecing together a complex puzzle. Why it matters: Not utilizing time-off policies can lead to missing out on essential payments and benefits for recovery and family bonding. Reminder: The U.S. offers 12 weeks of unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for eligible full-time employees. However, there is no federal paid parental leave law. The fine print: Pregnant employees are entitled to "reasonable accommodations," including telework and time off for health care appointments. https://lnkd.in/gqQZdJQS
