Our newly opened Flex ICU is the first inpatient facility of its kind in the country. In this innovative space, our dedicated team of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care trained interventionists will care for the region's most critically ill patients. Close proximity to our emergency department ensures high-priority transfers receive swift and seamless care in this advanced unit. The Flex ICU also features a unique Donor Care Unit, in partnership with LifeCenter, to aid in the success of organ donations and to honor the wishes of a recipient and their loved ones.

We were proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night, and we’re so grateful for all those who joined to celebrate, honor, and remember those impacted by blood cancers. This powerful event reminds us that, together, we can bring light to the darkness of cancer by supporting lifesaving research, advocacy, and—most importantly—our blood cancer patients and their families.

We are thrilled to continue the forward momentum of our health system with exciting announcements for our skilled executive leadership team: ◾ Industry veteran Charmaine Rochester will join our UC Health team as Chief Financial Officer. ◾ Art Pancioli, MD, has assumed the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer at UC Health while continuing to serve as a professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the UC College of Medicine. ◾ Rob Wiehe has assumed an expanded role as UC Health’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. This team will continue to drive the strategic advancements and clinical outcomes of our academic health system, setting new standards in the future of care for our region. We are honored to officially open the Emergency Preparedness and Response Center and share this significant moment with our community and partners. The Emergency Preparedness and Response Center is the most comprehensive facility of its kind in the nation, equipped with everything necessary for effective response. In just 30 minutes, this space can transform into a fully operational emergency management hub. The EPRC represents our promise and commitment to being prepared for whatever comes our way.
