Welcome to the Investment Advisory Committee, the only fully undergraduate-run investment group at UCSB
About us
Welcome to the Investment Advisory Committee (IAC), an undergraduate-run investment committee managing a substantial portion of student body funds on behalf of UCSB’s Associated Students (AS). Members of the IAC conduct investment analysis and contribute to presenting arguments for investment decisions while building skills in Powerpoint, Public Speaking, Teamwork and Finance. Several financial institutions have direct recruiting relationships with the IAC. Our fund has returned 18% annualized since inception (2008) and continues to grow while we update and manage our holdings on a weekly basis.

We’re excited to provide insight into the IAC's investment process by sharing two pitches from last Spring quarter: Topicus, pitched by TMT, and NU Holdings pitched by the Financial Institutions Group. Both stocks have since performed extremely well, returning 20%+ in 5 months. We believe that these pitches demonstrate the quality of work and thoroughness of investment analysis that we strive for in the IAC. Feel free to ask questions and share your thoughts in the comments!
