    Marketing can be the most frustrating and overwhelming department to handle because there is just so much to execute. Often, it is also the place where you have most people working in your business. Think about it: Social Media, copywriting, web development, email management, growth hacking, data aggregation, PR… Because of the disparate nature of all the marketing tasks, you need to create a plan that ensures all of the marketing activities are working in concert towards a common goal. While there are many schools of thought on what the building blocks are, I have created a system that pulls together the 6 areas I believe each founder needs to think about when creating a marketing program of their own. This I call your 24 x 7 Marketing Flywheel. Your 24 x 7 Marketing Flywheel turns strangers into buyers and raving fans. This progresses in 6-stages. These stages are happening in some form regardless of whether you intentionally design them or not. - Aware: This is the lead generation stage where you are executing activities that get you in front of brand-new, right-fit prospects consistently. - Engage: Here we use a lead magnet to exchange something of value for an email address. - Nurture: Build a relationship with your audience and get them ready to purchase with you through consistent communication. (ie social media*, blogs, podcasts) - Invite: Run promotional sales campaigns to get your existing, nurtured email list to buy with you. - Delight: Once they’ve purchased with you, craft an exceptional experience for clients/customers to keep them happy and taken care of. - Advocate: Turn those happy customers into testimonials, case studies, reviews, and referrals. Understand the culture and audience of each platform to maximize impact. Engage with Your Audience 🤝 “Community engagement is non-negotiable.” Respond to comments, messages, and mentions. Show your audience that you value their input and foster a sense of community. Leverage Emerging Trends 📈 “Stay ahead by adopting new trends early.” Keep an eye on emerging trends and technologies. Experiment with formats like short-form videos, live streaming, and AR/VR content to stay relevant. Consistency Over Perfection 📅 “Consistent output beats perfect content.” Aim for regular, high-quality posts rather than striving for perfection. The more you produce, the more opportunities you have to connect with your audience. Data-Driven Decisions 📊 “Let the data guide you.” Analyze your content’s performance. Use insights to refine your strategy and double down on what works. It's hard work to stand out on Social Media these days, but there are still tons of opportunities IF we all commit to being more strategic with the content we produce.     The 4th Grade Explanation of a 24/7 Marketing Flywheel Let's imagine you have a toy car that you love to play with. To make it move, you have to push it. But what if you had a special kind of toy car that, once you give it a push, it keeps going and going by itself for a long time? That's kind of like what a marketing flywheel is! Here’s how it works: Push to Start: Just like you need to push your toy car to get it moving, businesses need to put in effort to get their marketing started. They do things like making fun videos, writing interesting stories, or giving out cool stickers. This stage is sometimes called your "Go-to-Market" strategy. Keep Going: Once the toy car is moving, it keeps going because of its wheels and the smooth floor. In marketing, when people like what a business is doing, they tell their friends about it. Their friends might start liking the business too and tell more people. This keeps the business going without needing as much effort. This stage is where you hire awesome people to help you in your business because you've already gotten the car started. Get Faster and Faster: If you keep giving your toy car little pushes now and then, it will go even faster. In marketing, the more happy customers a business has, the more they talk about it. This makes the business grow faster because lots of people are excited and spreading the word. We can also make the car go faster with Advertising (and there are a LOT of ways to do that), So, a marketing flywheel is like a magical toy car that keeps going on its own and gets faster with just a little push every now and then. The "Spray and Pray" method doesn't work for sale, so why would it work for marketing?!
