University of Houston College of Optometry reposted this
As the year comes to an end, I’d like to look back at some of the work I’ve done this year and acknowledge the support I had along the way. At the end of spring, I was accepted into the summer research fellowship program at the University of Houston College of Optometry. I had the privilege to work in the Sayah Vision Lab and research properties of choroidal volume change and ocular rigidity, as well as help establish the lab’s database and computer infrastructure. My abstract, A Neural Network Approach to Measure Choroidal Volume Change and Ocular Rigidity in OCT Videos, was selected by the American Academy Of Optometry to be represented at the poster session of the Academy 2023 meeting. I enjoyed traveling to New Orleans to present my summer’s work at the national level, as well as attending the many knowledgeable seminars there. For this, I am honored to have been awarded the Cullen Fellowship Travel Grant provided by the UH Graduate School I would like to thank Diane Sayah, OD, PhD, FAAO for all her support in my academic and research advancements, as well as the faculty at UHCO for providing these opportunities to me. Likewise, I am grateful for all my peers who are with me in this program and the people in my life who have supported me. I look forward to my fourth semester as a student and working with my colleagues on becoming future doctors. #uhco #aao2023 #sayahvisionlab #grateful #optometry #research
