Happy World Down Syndrome Day from Podiatry Students, School of Health Sciences, Ulster University. This week our Year 1 students hosted an odd socks coffee morning on DLD campus. As well as being a colourful and fun day of wearing odd socks and eating lots of scones and cakes, we also managed to raise an amazing £400 for local charity Foyle Doyle Syndrome Trust. Massive thank you to all of the staff and students who supported this and to Doherty’s Home bakery Derry and An Croí Coffee House & Bistro, Maghera who generously donated lovely buns and tray bakes for this event. Ulster University recently celebrated Healthcare Science Week with a dynamic and engaging series of events. The week featured live Echo demonstrations led by guest lecturer Sinead Fitzpatrick, offering students hands-on insights into the world of clinical practice. Year two students actively participated in peer learning, presenting to first-year students and sharing their knowledge and experiences. In addition, students conducted a variety of clinical tests, including ECGs, analysis, and blood pressure monitoring, giving them practical experience in these essential healthcare skills. The celebration highlighted the University’s commitment to providing a comprehensive learning experience in Healthcare Science. #FutureOfHealthcareScience #healthcarescienceweek #healthcarescience

Thank you for coming to visit us! You got great weather 🌦️ (for here!) We are delighted to continue our partnership with Regis College Megan Gibbons John Cathcart Orlagh Daly Chloe Shand MSc FHEA
Brief moments like these take months of planning, and they are only possible because of the teams of dedicated educators in different countries who work behind the scenes to bring exchange programs to life. Regis College and Ulster University provide their students with access to global learning through short-term mobility programs, and the outcomes speak for themselves. Can't thank my colleagues enough for their support of international education: Cathy Fuller, Devin Cashman, John Cathcart, Orlagh Daly, Iain Jack, Chloe Shand MSc FHEA and Dr Kyle Ferguson!

A recent year one Healthcare Science team building event. The students were mixed into random groups where they completed a painting and then composed and delivered a pantomime style play for the class based on the painting. It was a great day and a brilliant way to break the ice for the year 1 pupils!
