UMC - Abundant Life for Seniors

The Shores in Ocean City recently hosted an "End of Summer BBQ" for all of their incredible teammates and it was a BLAST! These hard-working individuals were treated to some cookout favorites like burgers, hot dogs, chips, and popcorn, in what was a fun and festive environment throughout our community all day long. Oh, and we can't forget the ICE CREAM, which was a very popular choice! Besides the delicious spread, there were exciting party games, cool giveaways, and even an exceptionally talented balloon artist. Special thanks to our "party photographer," Theresa, for all of her help! At UMC, we are so incredibly thankful and blessed to have this one-of-a-kind group of teammates who brighten the days of so many. THANK YOU!

We had a great time connecting with so many wonderful individuals from the healthcare industry at today's Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey Health Forum. It was such an awesome experience to hear from the presidents of Jefferson Health-East, AtlantiCare, Inspira Health, and Virtua Health and join in on a powerful conversation on the evolving healthcare landscape in South Jersey. The Forum also included an engaging panel discussion from some of NJ's most influential Healthcare Association leaders and a special closing address from NJ Department of Health Commissioner, Kaitlan Baston. UMC looks forward to continuing to support these great healthcare providers and their initiatives for NJ seniors everywhere!

We had so much fun connecting with business partners from around the community and so many incredible individuals. Attendees were treated to a scrumptious selection of apps and also given the opportunity to receive FREE, professionally done headshots. UMC UNIVERSITY 🎓 Last week, we welcomed in teammates from throughout our entire organization to take part in the latest UMC University Learning Session! As part of UMC's ongoing commitment to investing in our teammates and culture, individual lessons and presentations were conducted by our Senior Leadership team, which sparked conversations on such topics like interpersonal relationships, critical thinking. and boundaries and civility. As part of our "rolling admission" model, we saw a healthy mix of first-time attendees and soon-to-be grads. In fact, a handful of members from the #UMCFamily completed the curriculum and officially graduated from the program, so congrats to our newest batch of UMCU Alumni! 😄

Sending summer out with a BANG! 🎉 We had an AMAZING time partnering with our friends from Heartland Hospice for a spectacular "End of Summer Bummer" celebration at the Ocean City Senior Center! Our festivities had a bit of a "Hawaiian flare" to them, as attendees wore colorful leis and enjoyed tasty snacks and fun party games. We always enjoy getting the opportunity to connect with our friends from around the Ocean City community!

UMC celebrated 50 years at Pitman Manor yesterday, in what was truly a special day for the entire #UMCFamily. We were absolutely blown away by the incredible love and support from all who stopped by. It was so amazingly apparent through your stories, your memories, and most importantly, the love in your voices, how many people Pitman Manor has touched, in one way or another, over the years. We want to give a special shoutout to Pitman Manor's SPECTACULAR Executive Director, Michele Matthews, for putting this all together and delivering such a beautiful speech to all in attendance. Special thanks, as well, to UMC VP of Operations, Dave Rayha, for his touching remarks during the ceremony, Pastor Kim Wecht for her wonderful blessing and prayer, our entire Dietary Services Team for the mouthwatering spread, and our very talented "Young at Heart Choir," who stole the show with their toe-tappin' performance! Of course, it was a total TEAM effort, and we could not have done it without all of the help from our residents, teammates, and volunteers. Looking forward to the next 50 years! ❤️
