Dean of Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park at University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business
Last two days we had awesome and powerful speakers at the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business! We had Comptroller of the state of Maryland, Brooke Lierman, speaking to a packed auditorium (organized by zeinab karake). So much to learn from Comptroller’s journey to where she is now and the purpose. Learned Longhorn Connection too! Yesterday we had former Worldbank President David Malpass. I have seen him so many times on media and it is wonderful to meet him in person. It was a wonderful discussion of international trade, development and migration with our rockstars Rajshree Agarwal and Michael Faulkender. The discusssion ended with my topic of deep concerns on unmitigated national debt and consequences of those for small businesses and other countries. It was huge learning moment to see the connection between our debt and implications to supporting working capital for small businesses.
