Last weekend, Oct. 19th & 20th, UMRFV employees worked as Survey Specialists at the annual RiverArtsFest in downtown Memphis! These employees assisted with gathering feedback about attendee experience at the festival by conducting field surveys. 🌟 Looking Back on My Journey with MLGW 🌟 Over the past year, I had the opportunity to work closely with MLGW, diving deep into billing support and customer service solutions. It was a challenging yet incredibly rewarding experience. From addressing complex billing issues to improving customer satisfaction, every day brought new learning opportunities. My hard work and dedication helped me grow into a Supervisor role, where I had the chance to lead and inspire a team, ensuring we consistently delivered top-notch support. Recently, this chapter of my life came to a close, but I carry with me invaluable skills and experiences that have shaped my leadership approach. Five of our employees represented UMRFV in the annual Raymond James Capture the Flag Challenge, hosted on Saturday, October 5th in St. Petersburg, Florida. The activities consisted of physical challenges, including lockpicking 6 locks within 10 minutes, drone racing, constructing a LEGO Ninjago set. The team also completed cyber challenges, which included activities on forensics and using SSH port forwarding to connect to targets via a jump host using protocols like HTTP, SSH, and RDP. UMRFV placed 9th out of 18 teams! 🎉 Overall, this gave the students an opportunity to have fun and use the skills they've learned in class and on the job. Way to go Team UMRFV!

Amazing day at The University of Memphis today for the All-Majors Career Fair! I not only got to speak with numerous employers today, but also was amazed at how much of this experience I was sharing with my colleagues. A special shoutout to Elena Doolan, B.S., SHRM-CP for being THE best person to represent the fantastic HR at UMRF Ventures!
