About us

The UNC Greensboro Black Student Union (BSU) exists to incorporate community outreach, political awareness, and cultural appreciation into our university's general student body self-enhancement and academic responsibility. BSU explores modern avenues such as events, discussions, global issues, media outlets, community service, and personal networking to fulfill this purpose. We are a non-religious, and non-political based organization founded and run by UNCG students, established by Joyce Booth, Brittney Buttler, and Desiree Daniels in 2008. The purpose of this organization includes but is not limited to: - Promoting black excellence. - Promoting the culture of black students. - Providing a safe environment to speak on issues and topics that affect the black community at UNCG. - Motto: “For the culture, by the culture.”
