I understand the importance of history and literature, but if you don't have a basic knowledge of H&L, you'll probably be ok later on in life. If you don't, however, have an understanding of basic finance, money principles, and saving for your future, you will most likely live beyond your means and have to work for the rest of your life. We need to overhaul our national educational curriculum to include financial principles and teach our kids the fundamentals of money management and retirement plans so that they are more empowered to make better decisions moving forward.
