Today is Chuck’s last day at United Fabrics. After 24 years at UF, he's now ready to live a life of retirement leisure. He began his textile career in 1984 at Uniroyal, becoming an expert in coated materials (faux leather). He called on the original owners of UF as a Uniroyal sales rep before becoming the United Fabrics sales manager in 2000. He is a core part of our culture here at UF, passing on his extensive knowledge to our team. Chuck is known as a man of ritual and routine, including his classic lines, “what’s new and exciting?”, “doing great for a (insert day of the week here)”, “What’s the application?”, and the iconic, “we have more Sunbrella then brains”. We are so excited to announce that our Crypton Fabric pattern Chessie has won the 2024 Hospitality Design Product Award for Textiles and Fabrics!! Thank you to the judges at the Hospitality Design Awards for this honor!

We are hitting the road with the release of the Coney Island Collection, the first in the Roadtrip Series that will feature @sunbrellacontract performance upholstery fabrics inspired by classic American road trip destinations! As the debut collection, Coney Island draws inspiration from the nostalgic East Coast beach town with a modern twist. Featuring 22 sunset-infused colorways across four vibrant patterns, the collection celebrates the energy of beachside living. All of the patterns in Coney Island meet ACT performance specifications, including abrasion test certifications ranging from 45,000 to 100,000 double rubs, depending on the pattern.

United Fabrics' most popular velvet has been given a makeover fit for 2024! Over the past decade, Lush has become a beloved velvet option for designers and upholsterers alike with its multidirectional pile and extensive palette of color options. We are excited to announce that we’ve added new, trend-forward colors, in addition to the most loved original colors. Meet Anna! Anna is our Graphic Designer. She has worked at UF for 2+ years, having started in our Sample Studio. Our first in-house Graphic Designer, Anna has quickly become essential to cultivating our very special brand identity. She’s behind some of our most beloved giveaway items and assets, such as our stickers. Anna loves the mix of digital and print materials she gets to work on and is most excited whenever she’s able to utilize her illustrative skills. What inspires her designs? Looking to past United Fabrics’ ephemera! Vintage office documents, tags, and samples from our 75+ year history are at the root of many playful designs. Anna’s fav UF tradition? The Design and Marketing department’s annual handmade holiday gift exchange. Her fav fabric? That’s has to be Thimble-Organic. Meet Ann-Marie! This is a very special Employee Spotlight! Annie, as she is known around the office, has worked for United Fabrics for 50 years! We are celebrating her today with a luncheon to give her the proper kudos. She began her career in textiles at Barclay Fabrics in Kensington Philadelphia when she was 21 years old. Barclay was bought by United Fabrics and we were lucky enough to keep Annie in the process! After 50 years, and many technology changes, Annie is still our rockstar bookkeeper. She is inspired by the strong female managers she has had throughout her career and has stayed at UF because of them. When Annie isn’t decorating her desk for the holidays she’s at home reading “whodunit” novels. Her fav fabric is an oldie but a goodie. We had to dig through the archives for this one!
