The humanitarian crisis in the #Sahel continues to deepen, with millions in desperate need of assistance due to escalating conflict, displacement, and climate impacts. Yet, response plans in the region are critically underfunded at less than 50% of the required amount. More support is essential to scale up humanitarian response operations and reach all those affected. Our combined efforts are vital to ensure that people in the Sahel receive the assistance they urgently need. Humanitarian needs in #Sudan are growing as the conflict worsens, affecting millions. Despite the immense challenges, 150 humanitarian partners in Sudan have reached 10.9 million people with life-saving aid. However, the situation remains dire. More funding is urgently needed, and unimpeded access must be ensured to reach even more people in need, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Our colleague Yao Chen is on the ground, sharing crucial updates about the ongoing crisis and response 📽️⬇️

The humanitarian crisis in #Lebanon is intensifying as escalating violence and Israeli airstrikes devastate civilian communities and infrastructure. Over 809,000 people have been displaced inside the country. Another 420,000 have fled to Syria and 17,000 have sought safety in Iraq. Lebanon’s 1,100 collective shelters are hosting more than 191,000 displaced people and 900 of them are already at full capacity. Across the country, #UnitedNations and humanitarian partners are providing essential support, even in hard-to-reach areas. But what’s urgently needed is an immediate ceasefire. On 20 October, humanitarian teams led by World Health Organization arrived at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern #Gaza to evacuate 14 critical patients to Shifa Hospital. But our request to bring desperately needed food, fuel for the hospital, blood and essential medicines was denied by Israeli authorities. We urgently need rapid, safe, sustained and unimpeded flow of life-saving humanitarian assistance.
