About us
United Way of Tarrant County is a local nonprofit organization that advances the common good in Tarrant County. We believe everyone has a right to a good life and a responsibility to improve the community. To LIVE UNITED is to advance the common good for all of us. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people have good health. We don't just address the symptoms of a problem. We go deeper to get at the underlying causes. And we do it with an unwavering commitment to efficiency and accountability. United Way of Tarrant County has more than 90 years of experience investing money, expertise and other resources to improve lives and communities. We establish creative collaborations of diverse individuals and organizations because together, we can accomplish more than any single group can accomplish on its own. The result is measurable improvements that ripple out to benefit the entire community.

Dominique Cooke brings her passion for making a difference and a deep connection to her Fort Worth roots to her role at United Way of Tarrant County, where she supports programs and initiatives that uplift the community. As community investment programs assistant, Dominique ensures UWTC’s programs and initiatives run smoothly and effectively reach those in need. From coordinating events to helping connect individuals with resources like literacy programs or workforce development, she plays a key part in driving the success of our initiatives. Dominique, who grew up on the east side of Fort Worth in the historic Stop Six neighborhood, graduated from Paul L. Dunbar High School and Texas Christian University. Her experiences growing up in Tarrant County shape her approach to her career. She feels a personal connection to her work at UWTC, driven by firsthand knowledge of the challenges her community faces. That connection motivates her to contribute to meaningful solutions and improve the quality of life for everyone in the area. For Dominique, it’s more than just a job — it’s a personal mission. Her passion for giving back led her to UWTC, where she was drawn to the organization’s commitment to addressing critical community needs and creating lasting change. One of her proudest moments at UWTC came when she helped plan and execute the One Second Counts event at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The event highlighted the efforts of individuals and organizations working to combat youth gun violence. Working with the One Second Collaborative and Tracey “The D.O.C.” Curry was a significant achievement, showcasing the collective impact of UWTC’s work. Outside of work, Dominique enjoys spending time with her family and reading to recharge and find balance. Get a chance to work alongside Dominique! UWTC is hiring for several positions.
