Unfortunately, disaster recovery scams often arise in the wake of natural disasters. To keep your money and personal information safe, remember the following tips: ⛔️ If someone wants money to help you qualify for FEMA funds, it’s most likely a scam. ⛔️ Beware if contractors demand cash payment upfront or refuse to give you a contract in writing or copies of their license or insurance. ⛔️ Scammers may pretend to be safety inspectors, government officials, or utility workers: always ask for identification to verify who you’re dealing with. ⛔️ Never share your personal information, like SSN or account numbers. The Federal Reserve’s decisive 0.50% rate cut on September 18 represents a reversal of monetary policy and a turning point for the US economy. Inflation is coming down, and rates are headed lower. • Retail sales up 0.1% in August • Unemployment held at 4.2% • “All items” CPI at 2.5% • S&P 500 up again in August It’s widely believed that the US economy is headed for a “soft landing.” That outcome is certainly possible, but ultimately, it’s the future course of growth and unemployment that will determine whether our landing is soft or hard. This week, United Community took time to reflect on the events of 9/11 by honoring the mission of our Good Day, September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. In each state, our teammates extended our heartfelt gratitude to the military, first responders, and many others who continue to serve their communities. Here are just a few of the many examples of the way United honored this Good Day across the southeast. #UnitedCommunity #September11 #NeverForget #Honor911
