Building a junction with efficient function! #ArcherWestern and United Infrastructure Group are delivering Phases One and Two of the massive Carolina Crossroads Improvements project on the northwest side of Columbia, SC. Crews are improving stretches along I-126 and I-20, from building bridges, widening lanes and modernizing interchanges. A key structure along Phase 1 includes a 650-foot-long curved steel girder bridge that requires precise coordination to maneuver and secure 150-foot to 180-foot singular curved sections onto the highway. Concurrently, crews are working on Phase 2 along I-20 while updating the Broad River Road interchange and adding three new bridges, two for a diverging diamond interchange over I-20 and one for a collector ramp. The overall project aims to increase traffic capacity and improve flow through the area previously referenced as "Malfunction Junction." The Carolinas have been devasted by the destruction of this storm. We are praying for our neighbors impacted by Hurricane Helene in South Carolina and Western North Carolina. UIG and Mountain Creek Contractors, Inc. are currently working with NCDOT in the affected areas to begin providing debris removal, utility repair, and road reconstruction. We are ready and prepared to assist in anyway we can. Thank you to our suppliers and industry partners for providing the necessary equipment for us to service and assist these communities. Let us all continue to work together and keep our trust in the Lord during this time. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. (Isaiah 26:3-4)
