About us

UnitedMasters is a new music industry alternative that provides independent artists with premium music distribution services, a suite of tools to help them directly connect with fans, and opportunities for unique partnerships with some of the world’s biggest brands including the NBA, Bose, and iHeart. UnitedMasters allows artists to easily distribute their music to all major streaming services. Distributed artists become eligible to participate in a variety of advertisements, brand partnerships and other promotions that earn them money and bring in new fans. UnitedMasters also provides artists access to their streaming and social data so they can gain insight into how to maximize fan engagement. The most promising artists on the platform unlock access to a bespoke suite of promotional services like playlist pitching, marketing, PR, and promotion. UnitedMasters aims to give artists the tools to operationalize their independence and maximize their creative and economic potential. UnitedMasters was launched in 2017 by Translation founder and music industry veteran Steve Stoute with a $70 million Series A led by Google’s corporate umbrella Alphabet alongside prestigious venture firm Andreessen Horowitz and entertainment giant 21st Century Fox. Led by a team of executives, marketers, engineers, and storytellers with backgrounds from YouTube, Soundcloud, Pandora, Instagram, Dropbox, Complex, and Vice, the platform positions talent for mainstream impact while allowing them to maintain full ownership over their master recording rights.

    "Internalize" by UnitedMasters Partner Artist Lily Hain provides the storytelling and soundtrack in a powerful new Dove commercial. The "Most Likely To" campaign, part of the Dove Self-Esteem Project, is informed by research from a new study that found two out of three Canadian girls stop participating in school due to low body confidence. Dove aims to change this narrative by empowering girls across Canada to reach their true potential.     With the NCAA Football season kicking off tomorrow, we're hyped to share another new sync placement. UnitedMasters Partner Artist BigXthaPlug partnered with his local Texas NCAA Football team, Southern Methodist University, to promote the new season on its social channels. The UnitedMasters music licensing team worked with SMU to ensure the music was cleared for use across all social channels.     In a massive win for independence, 'Gata Only' by UnitedMasters Artist Partner FloyyMenor and Cris Mj has been named TikTok’s Global Song of the Summer for 2024. The song has soundtracked over 15 million TikTok videos, making it the most-used song on the platform over the past three months. Creators have used the song to showcase everything from their summer fits to holiday snaps and so much more, igniting a trend that has transcended borders and resonated across multiple countries.     We're kicking off the week with another great sync, this time in a national TV campaign for Mark Wahlberg's sports apparel brand, MUNICIPAL CO. The spot, produced by Duplex Deli, features the song "Put in Work (feat. Tommy Newport and Spillage Village)" by UnitedMasters Artist Partner EARTHGANG. The song appears on the Grammy-nominated Atlanta rap duo's second EP, ROBOPHOBIA, released in February. The EP is the second installment of the EARTHGANG vs. Algorithm series and explores new soundscapes and topics on imperfections, connections, and projections within humanity’s relationship with each other and AI.
