We are proud to have served Greater Cleveland for over 100 years, and we know our work will be needed for the next 100. That is why we are so grateful to the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Supporting Foundation for granting us $10 million to fund an endowment, and why we are so deeply thankful to the philanthropists who have matched this incredible gift. “United Way needs an endowment because of the changing nature of contributions,” say philanthropists Claudia and Dave Fulton, “and the Mandel Foundation grant was a fabulous opportunity to set United Way up with a stable funding source. “Participating in this match is a way we can contribute to United Way’s mission, and support their important work in our community.” Thank you, Dave and Claudia, for your generosity and vision in helping us secure a strong foundation for United Way’s future work! Yesterday Mark Dorony of United Way Geauga and Resource Coordinator Missy Besednjak welcomed a new employer to the Bridges@Work program by delivering a surprise 🍕 lunch! BaseTek, LLC, located in Middlefield, manufactures specialized mineral castings using environmentally friendly minerals. They are also committed to supporting their employees, and we’re excited to help them do that through Bridges@Work. Owner Scott Sapita says, “BaseTek is a family-first company where we like to eat, and eat well! In addition to frequent monthly profit-sharing festivities, each employee gets to pick the lunch of their choice on their birthday to enjoy with the team. Speaking of eating well, customers enjoy and get a kick out of The BaseTek Bar, a chocolate treat shaped just like one of our popular castings.” Yum! Looking forward to partnering with you, BaseTek!
