Dana Anderson is the Epsilon Sigma Phi Alpha Kappa Chapter (Kentucky) Continued Excellence Award Winner! She has 33 years of experience and has had the opportunity to develop 4-H programs in two counties in very different parts of the state. Her relationship-building skills have allowed her to provide school enrichment activities that reach beyond the school and engage community partners. Our 2025 Continue Excellence Award winner states, “maintaining a positive attitude can significantly influence both professional and personal life. The role of a 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent is driven by passion, not financial gain. The ability to positively impact a child or our community is invaluable. 4-H enables me to work with both youth and adults, and witnessing kids explore new opportunities and create lasting memories is one of the greatest rewards of this role.

The 2025 Administrative Leadership Award Winner is Natasha Lucas! During her 28-year Extension career, she has served as a dual role agent, as a county Extension agent for Family and Consumer Sciences, as a District Director and as a Regional Director. As one of three regional extension directors, she has been a major player in transitioning the UK Cooperative Extension Service from districts to regions and from statewide county operations to a regional approach. She served the Alpha Kappa Chapter as President and represented ESP at both JCEP and PILD. She has served on the Alpha Kappa Board as the Administrative Contact since 2020 and serves as liaison between the administrative team and chapter. Congratulations! #ukyextension

The 2025 Kentucky Beginning Grazing School, a program of Martin-Gatton CAFE and the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, will be held April 29-30 at the Logan County Extension Office in Russellville. The school’s goal is to help livestock producers increase their profitability through a combination of hands-on and classroom learning. “While this school targets beginning grazers, the topics and discussion will benefit producers along all segments of their grazing journey,” said Chris Teutsch, forage specialist in the UK Department of Plant and Soil Sciences.
