  • Michigan State University football players and the famed Zeke the Wonder dog delighted our young patients with a visit to University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Children's Center this week. The players, who visited on behalf of Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan, played games with the awestruck children and handed out stuffed animals and T-shirts. Thanks for stopping by and creating some smiles. Good luck the rest of the season Michigan State Football!

  • UM Health Regional President Margaret Dimond led a panel of local health care executives during a discussion on the state of health care at the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Economic Club luncheon. Margaret, who was joined by Travis Souza, associate chief strategy officer for Michigan Medicine, discussed such issues as the need for behavioral health services, recruitment and retention of vital health care workers and keeping care close to home. The panel was moderated by Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association. We appreciate being able to help lead the dialogue on health issues of importance to our community.

  • At just 31 years old, Dylan Wade of Mason discovered a lump in one of her breasts. That same week, she also learned that she was 12 weeks pregnant. Fearing the worst, Wade turned to the highly skilled cancer team at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow, along with leading-edge medicine, to save both her and her baby's lives. University of Michigan Health-Sparrow’s team of breast cancer experts is dedicated to providing leading-edge screenings and precision medicine close to home. That is why we’re looking forward to a multi-million-dollar expansion of our comprehensive Breast Center at UM Health-Sparrow. The new space will offer mammograms and other screenings, diagnostic evaluations, ultrasound and biopsy services, all in one space.
