  • We had a 🎃👻 SPOOKTACULAR time🧛🦇 at the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Children’s Center getting our youngest patients ready for Halloween. With tons of costumes to pick from, delicious snacks and fun crafts, it was all treats, no tricks, as we partnered once again with Spirit Halloween to bring smiles to these beautiful faces. Spirit of Children, Spirit Halloween’s charitable foundation, ensures children at more than 150 pediatric hospitals throughout North America can still celebrate the season by collecting cash and merchandise donations from customers and proceeds from sales. The program has raised about $961,000 for UM Health-Sparrow, the region’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, since 2007, including $142,000 in 2023.

  • Everyone's family has been touched by breast cancer in some way. During this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, leaders of the Sparrow Foundation's Women Working Wonders (W3) told us their personal stories. Here is Stella Cash. To support expansion of the UM Health-Sparrow Breast Center, please visit UofMHealthSparrow.org/Give. To learn more about the project or if you have additional questions, contact Joy Wiseman at Joy.Wiseman@umhsparrow.org or call 517-364-3535.

  • An inspiring story as we continue #breastcancerawareness month. Lisa is a mother of 3 and a battalion chief for the Lansing Fire Department. Discovering a lump in one of her breasts was not a part of the plan. Six months later, she was diagnosed with cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. She turned to the highly skilled cancer and surgical teams at University of Michigan Health in Lansing and Ann Arbor. Our breast cancer experts provide leading-edge screenings and precision medicine close to home and our care is only advancing. We’re looking forward to a multi-million-dollar expansion of our comprehensive Breast Center at UM Health-Sparrow.
