The Cedar Cultural Center is 35 years old this year! Operations director and Arts and Cultural Leadership alumnus John Marks says much of its lasting success is due to the generous involvement of the community. "We have 250 volunteers who help make sure that our shows run smoothly, clean up, set up, all of that," he says." They also volunteer on our committees and our board." Congratulations and thank you to The Cedar and all its supporters for an amazing 35 years! #ArtsAndCulture #WorldMusic #MusicVenue #EmergingArtist #CommunityEngagement #NonprofitManagement #TwinCitiesMusic https://lnkd.in/gVSzrCgf

Last spring, 21 U of M students jetted off to Singapore to study the intersection of food and design. They collaborated with peers from the Singapore University of Technology and Design and the National University of Singapore to rethink “hawker centers”—iconic food hubs in Singapore. “My group was designing solutions to the challenge of finding open tables in hawker centers,” says product design major Tristan Kmoch. The group aimed to enhance the dining experience in hawker centers without compromising the cultural essence embedded in the communal space. Read more to find out what they created. https://lnkd.in/gngb9Wyr
